Someone in our group watching the game said that Wilson has a hard time throwing more crosses and slants across the middle due to Wilson's height. Might be right, he does get his share of blocked passes.

that has been a story line of his career - you take the good with the bad.

    Smith needs to help him.....

Wilson has struggled a bit all year when the deep ball isn't hitting. The Cincy game he was really good all over the field, but most games we're either hitting big plays down the field or going 3 and out. Our running game hasn't sustained with Najee's struggles, and our lack of a true #2 WR means that it is hard for us to consistently move the chains.

Russ' whole career he's been able to see and make those throws... he just hasn't been making them here in Pittsburgh. A healthy Pickens and a reliable #2 is really needed for this offense to take the next step. An actual quality RB would do a lot for us too. 22's inability to get anything going outside of his 3 game stretch (NYJ,NYG,LV) has been killing us out there.

I don't recall Warren doing anything in the running game against the Eagles either.

The Eagles stuffed all of the running backs most of the game. They stacked the box because they didn't think the Steelers' receivers could win one-on-one against their corners and they were absolutely right. Slay and Mitchell had an easy time with Williams, Jefferson, and everyone else who lined up on the outside.

As much as Khan deserves praise for a lot of what he is done, last night highlighted how badly he screwed up in two areas. One was passing on Mitchell to take Fautanu. Mitchell did an excellent job while Jackson was horrible. The Steelers are far weaker than they should be at corner because they made a bad decision in the first round.

The other failure is at wide receiver. The Steelers have one good outside receiver and that's it. Williams has been nearly invisible. Jefferson sucks. The cast of cast-offs behind them is no better. Austin is a decent slot guy, but that's it. That's on Khan.

we have these players called TIGHT ENDS. Smith is stuck in his own box of playcalling. (and lack of creativity)

we are stuck, as an organization, with Tomlin, with a conservative offense mindset. Even when Ben was here, our RED ZONE offense sucked....

    it is what it is.

Maybe the tight ends just aren't that good, or maybe Wilson's deficiencies attacking the middle of the field are the problem. Smith has a history of offenses that use tight ends very effectively, so it is fair to assume the personnel are at least part of the problem.

Yeah, technically Wilson fumbled, not Harris.

Re Wilson and throwing over the middle, the o line has to open up passing lanes for him. If they cant do that hes going deep to the sides or making short dump off passes. He could scramble to find guys in the middle of the field but its easier if the line can provide passing lanes. If he was Bens height this wouldn't be so crucial

    My week 15

    Steelers lose

Then in one fantasy league, I played against Lamar. I'm up by 10 but they still have a RB (Robinson) and a WR (Addison) to go.

The second league I'm down 141 to 78 with my RB (Robinson), WR (Addison) and TE (Bowers) to go.

Are you sure the Eagles don't have the highest paid def....they made the Steelers look like minimum wage earners.. I can't believe this especially when the Steeler was alone and missed that tackle WTF.And the Eagle runs and runs or Flies like an Eagle down the Field. Any way Tomlin says Ravens are the best and you can eat  And live in your fears as he does.:th jawdrop2::rant::wave:

There were a few plays that determined that outcome. Missing GP definitely played a role as well.
    1. The refs got the call wrong. It should have been off setting and replay 1st and goal instead of 1st and 30.
    2. The offense had momentum and we looked like we were going to finish that drive tied at 20. Instead we fumble the ball away, they drive for a score. 14 point swing against us.
    3. We could not get a stop on that final drive for 10mins or whatever it was. Total back breaker.

What you do for one side, you do for the other. If we don't get those early fumbles, we really do get blown out in this game.

Sure, but last I checked only six of 32 coaches qualify for that stat. Doesn't make it a good thing, but..
I would assume any x-rays they performed included the foot (and lower fibula and tibia as well), and if so they would have been able to see evidence of a Jones or Lisfranc fracture. There are also Lisfranc sprains, but those, along with any Achilles tear would need an MRI to be seen. But the physical exam would give them a pretty good indicator of whether they were even in play.

Full disclosure would have me admit I wasn't particularly bullish on Mitchell heading into the draft. The freakish physical traits/Group of Five school combo just had me seeing him as a boom/bust type of prospect. But I wasn't as big on Fautanu as some either, so hearing his name called rang a little hollow for me. I thought Mitchell's ceiling wass higher and at a more premium position (assuming RT for Fautanu, with many feeling he moved inside at the pro level). I was starting to like the idea of Thomas, Jr., but didn't think Khan and Co. would take a receiver in the first (and of course Jacksonville took him a few spots ahead of them anyway).

There's a road sign or two around here that points one to a TSF fantasy football league. I hear they'll leave the light on for you.

Two other things we learned: The Steelers still can't win in Philly AND the Eagles have a very good team, with a shot to win the NFC and maybe the SB.

Our Steelers still have to be better.

    Well... watched the game!!!

Oof. That is all I have to say. Granted, I did have the Steelers losing to the likes of Philly. Still though... I thought that the team would put up a better fight than what was displayed. Losing T.J. Watt stings however; something that will be just as important to monitor as George Pickens.

That said, I don't even think Pickens will be available for the Ravens game. That just makes the game against Baltimore all the more difficult.

Because he never caught a backwards pass. If it was tossed forward I think it’s just incomplete. But being backward and falling to the ground after NOT being held and then dropped by Naj it put on the player “throwing”.

    Interesting stats.

For me the toss plays aren’t necessarily about breaking big gains, it’s more about making the defense less aggressive in the middle.

Still, the risk/reward is clearly off here

So wait. Critical thinking males You think that if they got 21 in one play ....they wouldn't have gotten 30 in 3????
    LoL.
    Make that make sense.
