You can’t win if your OC is about one step ahead of Canada. Same thing almost every, 2 runs then throw and that doesn’t even make it to get a first down. And the saga continues. Then we have a head coach who probably the only one in the stadium with sunglasses on. Looking like why are we here. Under these conditions we are lucky to have the record we have this year. The OC has no imagination whatsoever.

They lost because they were outmanned by the Eagles, you thinking one decision by the HC is why they lost is laughable .

he is dull. He is not one of the creative young genius guys, in the league. that was my concern when we signed him.

We are doing fine, but FINE will not RINGS and PLAYOFF games.

It would be different if the defense wasn't on track to give up 400 yards and already had given up 27 points. I just don't understand the decision. I know we hadn't done much offensively, but we would've been lucky to get 2 possessions after that punt. Ironically, we got 0 posessions.

It really felt like he was throwing in the towel there. Hard to defend the decision, and really it just brings into light how poor Tomlin is with time management and in-game decisions. He is inconsistent in his aggression in those situations and we've had a bunch of them backfire this year. He's found a way to be wrong most of the time in 2024.

As a head coach, imo, the main thing you do, is game manage and put your team in the best possible position to win games. He and his assistants already failed to make halftime adjustments to slow their offense down(13 minutes time of possession for them in the 3rd qr) you have come to the conclusion that, at the very least, they'd get a first down and run a good chunk of clock. It narrows the amount of plays our offense, minus Pickens, have left, to pull the game out. A poor game management decision by Mike Tomlin.

Our 3rd and 6 offense is either a 2 yard out or 50 yard fly pattern. It’s insane.

You started a thread complaining about punting on 4th down, maybe you should post less.

Yep, same old story. Coaching scared. Between his horrible clock management, awful challenge record and complete lack of faith in his own team and players, well, we're getting exactly what that would bring. A mediocre, average team, year in and year out, that sneaks or backs into the playoffs (along with half the league, so no accomplishment there) only to get completely destroyed once it gets real in January.

No hope on the near horizon either. At least we can boast about a winning record, even if no one remembers our record because its usually one more win than losses. They do remember the Steelers looking completely clueless on the field come January and somehow that deer-in-headlights look is forgotten by the media when discussing our GREAT head coach all off-season. Mind-boggling.

    Rinse and repeat.

It's the randomly-stupid stuff that bothers me. Case in point - 1st and 20 and you decline a 10-yard holding penalty? MT is clearly not an analytics person. Not saying that's good or bad overall, but no way that should've happened.

So the fact Tomlin is awful is not allowed to be discussed?

I feel like too many on this board are all about the participation trophy craze that took over the past 20 years. If we don't care about winning, why even compete. I mean, we're completely handicapped by a handicapped head coach, but we have to talk about that, not pretend everything is rainbows and unicorns.

We're not the Giants or Browns or Raiders, so thats cool, I am glad about that, but we also haven't done anything notable in 15 years. Yet, HCMT is STILL HERE. Must be a government job? Only thing I can come up with, where you can suck for so long and not even be on a hot seat or at least on written warning.

You know damned well that the people complaining he punted were complaining when they ran the fake punt way back when. And would be just as critical if they went for it on 4 4th and 7 at the 50 and not made it.

Not exactly, I for one agreed with the fake punt. If the other team is going to leave someone wide open, you take it. Just because it didnt work doesnt mean it was the wrong move. As for the punt down 14 with 10 minutes to play on the road, there is no way you kick that ball. We had the ball for like 10 minutes in the first half and like 5 minutes in the second half. I havent looked at the "official TOP" but it was pathetic no matter what it was, The only chance we had was to go for it. As stated by someone else in this thread, the likelihood of getting the ball 2 more times after the defense had already been on the field for 2/3's of the game was pretty low, or to get it back still being down only 14....lets just call this what it is, we were outplayed, outcoached and outmanned. Jalen Hurts looked like a HOF'er and thats the saddest piece of all of this. I think we were so focused on shutting down Saquan, that we didnt even game plan a viable pass defense.

Philly is the better team. The only way we win that game is by playing perfectly. We didn’t.

Clearly you don’t. Otherwise you wouldn’t make claims like the offensive line doesn’t matter it’s just coach speak. Paraphrasing

or your daily tomlin living in his fears

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but you’re not the genius you try to portray yourself as being. One other thing. It’s obvious you think touting yourself as some guru is a flex and adds to your credibility. It doesn’t. That’s the type of thing children do

It is one hundred percent correct. Philly is the better team. They are one of if not the best team in the league. You obviously missed it, but I said the Steelers had to play perfectly. In a nutshell that means they can’t hurt themselves. They did
