I don't see them putting up the kind of money we can't match after just signing Amendola and now Donald Jones. How do they have so much cap space to do so much in Free Agency?

Okay, NOW this is getting a little worrisome. Is Tyler Grisham going to be starting at WR next year?

Didn't they cut ties with Brandon Lloyd as well? They don't have any receivers either.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got to draw a line in the sand. Steelers can't lose Sanders. If they do I'm not to optimistic about next year.

ESPN radio just reported that the Pats signed Donald Jones from the Bills..so maybe they wont want Sanders too.

Wow, not gonna lie, I never thought any of our RFA's that were tendered would get any interest from other teams... If he goes that leaves us with Brown, Burress and Cotchery?

I am not sure where they stand with Lloyd and Branch, but I know they have Edelman, Amendola and Jones now.

I may be in the minority here, but I am not a big fan of Sanders. He isn't starter material in any way shape of form in my opinion. With Cotchery and Burress here along with Brown, I could see us then taking a couple of guys in the draft.

I could also see us having a difficult year in the coming year, but with all the UFAs we would be losing, next year's comp picks could be insane...with a lot of them being very high. I mean right now we could be looking at multiple 3rd round picks. Lewis and Wallace I think can easily be there, but Harrison would have a shot if he turns into Porter when he left and Sanders could potentially give us another 3rd rounder in this coming draft.

harrison was cut and there is no comp pick , i feared sanders would have draw some interest but if we get a 3rd for him we will find a wr in the draft

I don't entirely disagree with you there. I was hoping for a lot more from him and there were certainly flashes where he looked good and made plays. But I never saw the consistency or the clutch play. I think my issue is we know what we have in him and he isn't bad. If lost, can we replace with at least equal talent and production immediately?
In terms of depth I feel comfortable with him.

As recently pointed out to me, the Pats have 1 3rd rd pick this year and no picks after that until the 7th round. Hoping this makes it unlikely for them to sign him.

Seems like in just one year the "Young Money" crew could be going bankrupt...Kinda hard for Brown to be young money when the other 2 recievers are Burress and Cotchery lol

Wouldn't that make it MORE likely they would need to pick up a WR via free agency since they had limited draft picks and it's a position of need?

They pats acquired Wes Welker through Restricted Free Agency a few years ago...Well they brought him in and I believe Miami knew they would lose Welker either way so the Pats gave the dolphins their 2nd pick (which is what the tender was on welker) and also their 7th round pick. But obviously they aren't scared to go the RFA route.

Pretty much exactly what I was going to say about it. I'm in the same train as thought as you two about Sanders. Not as great as I had hoped, but not bad either. Solid, steady, slot guy. I'm not doing cartwheels over him but, at the moment, it feels like losing him would be brutal.

But this year, the Pats would only have 4 picks to use in the entire draft if they give up their 3rd to the Steelers. they would only have a 1st, 2nd, and 2 7ths

i'm getting a little worried here as well............ we had replacements for everyone else... this is hitting where it hurts.. I know this yrs. draft is pretty deep at receiver, but I'm hoping that nothing will come of this..... plaxico is no where near the same receiver that he once was, and as much as I like cotchery, I don't want to see him starting full time.... if an offer is made, i'm hoping that it won't be to high for us to match.
