Mundy to the Giants

No big loss, but safety in 1st 2 rounds now?

I think we need to go safety with our first pick. With Polamalu's health, Clark's age, and Mundy's defection . . . it's a BIG need.

 

The rats released the big hitter Pollard, can he cover or is he just a hitter that makes people think he's half decent?

 

We probably will resign Will Allen to a short term contract, and draft a safety. We still have Robert Golden as well

 

i'm actually pretty high on golden, but we do need another back-up out there to cover troy's spot............ my hope is either cyprien or shamarko thomas

 

Out of interest, what do you see in Golden to be high on him? Last season I was calling for him to get playing time, mainly because anything would have been an improvement at some points... but when I got to see him actually play, I was a little disappointed. Are you high on his potential, or his actual play?

I'm still holding out hope for him to develop.

 

I'm really surprised that a Pollard thread hasn't popped up actually.

 

the reason i'm high on golden is that in him I see a player who is very technically sound and is rarely, if ever out of position.... he's a sure tackler also........ keep in mind that when he got out on the field, he was playing out of position at cb due to all the injuries, and I was actually pleasantly surprised by his play even then... he was never beaten badly, and again, was always in the right position....... I strongly believe that we got a gem here, and that he is the future at the fs position.

Yeah the Safety at the combine with the Steelers tattoo.....
After the combine i found some tape and liked what i saw. I read his story. Steeler fan. Signs to play at Kent St.(he's a REAL Steeler fan) Ends up leaving school spent the following year working in a warehouse while taking classes at a community college, before enrolling at California University of PA. His honors at the program included: PSAC Freshman of the Year, four All PSAC-West selections, back to back Defensive Player Of The Year awards, and two-time Division II All American honors.
He plays hard and hits even harder we need help at S and he would be a GREAT rd5 pick!!
i've actually been talking to him on Twitter today was his schools pro day and i asked him he said it went well i asked him if there was any Steelers scouts there and he said he really wished there was but no.....
