    Don't be naive.
Humans generally do not grow to the size of most nfl o lineman natuarlly.
Ive worked out regularly and taken and taken care of myself for over 25 years now. I'm sure most here have too. Getting to that size natuarlly or even with a healthy does of natural supplements just doesn't happen. Sure you can pack on good amount of size and strength without any illicit help, but the level that these guys get to is beyond natural.

So, same question. What credible source do have to warrant accusations that NFL OL all take steroids and illegal performance enhancing drugs? Sounds like your opinion is based on your own inability to put on the mass and stength to be an NFL offensive lineman. No offense, but that alone doesn't warrant the conclusion that some are inferring here that OL in the NFL are all on steroids because it is the "culture". I'm not callong BS, but just asking for something credible to support the claims beyond unfounded opinions. Naive? Not really, just looking for something to support the accusation.

I agree. I was going to post something very similar and "naive" was also the word that came to mind to describe people who think that there are more than a handful of NFL linemen who have never taken steroids.

Evidence for the naysayers? Obviously, no evidence is going to be provided other than visual aids (Faneca's before and after shots). The OP has backpedaled some, but he's probably right and the visual evidence is there. Faneca's body transformation probably has more to do with him going off the juice and less to do with his morning water aerobics classes at the local Y.

More evidence for the naysayers? Our history within the organization. Webby, Kolb, Courson and a lot of those guys in the 70s . . . admitted users. Courson's tell-all (False Glory) revealed a lot about it (and he suggested Lambert and Ham refused to partake). It was the culture then and I'm sure nothing has changed. Courson was, by all accounts, 'blacklisted' by the NFL for 'coming out.'

Also, a team doctor who served our organization from '85-'07 (covering the duration of Faneca's career here) was recently indicted in a federal steroids probe. But I'm sure there's no fire anywhere near that smoke.

It doesn't bother me in the least if a pro athlete is caught juicing because I'm convinced most all of them are, to some extent, using PEDs.

I think Dick answered this post pretty well.

Of course I have no evidence, but sometimes just plain old common sense takes over. As far as my own inability, I never wanted to be that big, but there was a time when I wanted mass. And I achieved a decent amount of it by my dieting and working out regiment. At 6' I was able to get to 200. Sure I could have probably gained more with better training, better dieting, and better natural supplementing. Plus better genetics would have also helped. At his playing weight, his BMI was 37. To achieve a 37 BMI I would have had to have gotten to 275 lbs. There is no way in hell that I could have hit 275 naturally. No way.
