That’s more yards than Van Jefferson has all season.

Williams will possibly get more looks if Pickens does not play.

Sure. But he replaced a guy that was less an average at his position.
Van Jefferson isn't the WR2 in this offense. Austin is. If Wilson started the entire season Austin would have close to 700 yds already.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by CA3 this year but still view him as the slot/3 WR. Do the snap counts play out that way? I feel like VJ is still the 2 in terms of position (outside) and snaps. I could be wrong and certainly am aware CA3 is getting more targets.

I don't think either of them are WR2, which is why the offense should feature Muth more with 6-8 receptions a game.

Jefferson does have 3 receptions over 35 yards this season

Austin was 1 reception in 4 targets for 4 yards today with Pickens out

Certainly makes me see him getting to 700 yards

I agree. He's a great #3 because he has the speed to go deep and the YAC ability to rip a huge catch and run... He's just not big enough to be a true #2. His inability to be able to be a "chain moving" option (some call this a possession receiver) will keep him from being a full time #2. However, I fully advocate for him to be out there enough to get some targets. Get us a true #2 next year and roll Pickens/New Guy/Austin/Wilson/Skowronek as the top 5 (obviously we could keep a 6th).
