One thing I am not happy is the defense. They were in playoffs mode today who is not good for the steelers!

Thank god the steelers offense had their best game since 2018 and the bengals defense have been garbage in the entire season....The steelers defense need to be better against elite offense, this is a problem for years now, outside of the matchup vs ravens

Team like the bills, chiefs and even chargers have all very good QB with a very good defense,so our defense is a huge concern if we face them come playoffs time

They held both Chase and Higgins under 100 yards receiving, look at Chase vs the Ravens this season 21 catches 457 yards and 5 TDs.

I think the defense is still in 'finding themselves' mode which means their arrow is pointing up despite giving up 38 points today, not perfect but improving, secondary figuring it out, Porter had some regrettable penalties, but, I believe the players are there... now go get it done

And the Steelers offense scored 37 points , newsflash: this isn't the Steel Curtain defense you aren't going to hold the Bengals under 20 points.

I for one sick of seeing the middle of our secondary wide open, i mean 10 aircraft carriers can fit in there.
It's like the corners and safeties not on the same page.On the one TD pass the corner Jackson released the WR
to the safety in the endzone.Safety never pick up the coverage

4 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 int, a TD, and a win. Yeah that's a horrible D. About 30 other teams wish they had our terrible Defense.
That's why we have an offense, and special teams. D can't be the reason we win every game

and we recently won the Baltimore game without scoring a TD.....it was the O's turn to win one. but they had help with 3 turnovers and a defensive td.

    Exactly.
Also people forget that we have faced 3 of the top 5 offenses with points per game, and this was the 1st time we gave up 30 points, and still got the 4 sacks, 2 fumbles, 1 int, a TD, and the win.
I've never said this Defense is elite.....only the people that think this D sucks have used that term, but I think this Defense is better than we have had in quite a while.

They gave up 31 points and all those pass interference penalties were earned by the Porter's inability to stay with those receivers.

It’s unrealistic to expect the defense to be dominant every game.

that is scheme - most of us know that. Yes, several of those QB's mentioned in the initial thread will tear that up. Chargers QB was starting to in Week 3 before he limped off the field.....

If Tomlin has some surprises and hold back, I can't WAIT to see them!

We have seem Tomlin defenses COLLAPSE in the playoffs the past 10 years.

First thought that entered my head. When I tell the young NFL fans who loved our last game because of the scoring, that we had 4-5 straight shut outs they say BS. Then I have to show them.

They are a huge concern regardless how our D is playing. Pisses me off the damn D of the Chiefs is keeping them afloat long enough for Mahomes to get winning score.

Bills ,Chiefs gonna be tough as hell for our D but if Russell has it working we'll have the ball longer then a 3 and out all the time. D will get needed rest if Wilson can engineer some drives which he is more then capable of.

I would add as well they kept Brown to 70 yards. Two big run plays and then nothing after that.

Second best offense in the league. That's going to happen from time to time. The more salient point is how RW kept going toe to toe with Burrows. Massively impressive.

The Bengals had 231 yards through 3 quarters, their numbers ended up looking good because the Steelers played prevent the whole 4th quarter with a 14 point lead and the Bengals put up 144 yards in the 4th.

Porter Jr. also isn't going to get 4-5 penalties every game either, the Bengals have the top passing offense and probably the best pair of starting WRs in the league yeah they're going to get theirs. The Steel Curtain defense isn't walking through that door, I will take 4 sacks and three turnovers even if the other team scores 31 points.

Well, they’d be right to call BS on that. We didn’t have 4–5 shut outs straight. We had three then two later to finish up the season.

You are getting banged pretty good in this thread and not sure why.

The Steelers defense has obviously been pretty good, but they have given up plays at inopportune times and lack consistent pressure. Their offense while improved is no juggernaut regardless of yesterdays result. The defense can't have a game like that against a Mahomes or Allen if there are trophy expectations.
