What does this do to Moreno's role? Will Mendy be their work horse?

Well, Mendy is in Arizona now. So it looks like it will come down to Denver and Arizona. I still think this is a big mistake letting him go.

positive- well no more shuckin and jiven behind the line on running plays, and the fumbles

negitive- very good pass protection when he got assignment right, he could stand up a LB and he was good reciever- the Steelers always refuse to utilize that in any back.

I was kind of hoping that we'd re-sign him at a reasonable amount and give him an opportunity to make amends in the Burgh. Oh well, water under the bridge.

I honestly think him and Tomlin just can not get along. It's ironic that Tomlin's first pick ever was one who seemed to be the biggest thorn in his side. I've never been a Mendy fan from day one and I'm not even sure why. I've just always felt like he had an attitude or something. He just never struck me as a down to earth kinda guy. I could be wrong and maybe I'm being unfair but that's just my impression of him. Before he ever played a down I just didn't like him. Some people just rub you that way I guess.

He was our most talented back but couldn't get his head right. Hopefully we draft a back and Dwyer and Redman step up big time.

Forget him. He's a head case.

With both him and Wallace gone I think it remedies alot of the suspected locker room issues.

If I recall correctly, we never spoke to Mendy before the draft, as he wasn't projected to drop to us. We ended up going with him as the best player available.

Some people are saying, "good riddance" to Mendenhall but now we don't have a true starting RB. Dwyer and Redman are back-ups at best.

I'm not a big fan but I think they are going to go fter Beanie Wells with a serious offer. Options are very limited at this point.

I'm watching that one too. Not a change of pace back i'd figure we'd go after but he does have nice size. Loved him at OSU. Not quite sure how i'd feel about that one :hmmm:

Yep... and give him a chance to play in a better blocking system with a better OL.

I think you are 100% right, those two were mucking things up in there for sure and for that alone, I am glad they are gone.

my only problem with Mendy other than the occassional (understatement) dancing in the backfield
was his 1st yr injury and the fact that it was reported he wasn't at the facility alot rehabing
be a teammate and get together with the guys

i'd still keep him here tho
    oh well

Good, get rid of the bum!! he's god for his first few games back, then he turns into the useless goat. I'd rather have punishing backs who can wear down a D and eat up the clock,,instead of a break away tippy toe dancer

Punishing backs like Dwyer, who will wear d-lines down... then take a few plays off because he's tired...

I'm as much a fan of rb by committee as the next guy, but we do need to get some more dimensions to the running corps, and hope that Dwyer improves his conditioning and continues to improve.

    Good riddance!!

He can live in Boulder where they'll appreciate his pro-Al-Qaeda views.

I realize this board is probably evenly divided on him, but I couldn't stand him. Met him in person and he was a weirdo. Aloof personality, didn't seem to gel with teammates, very . . . Kordella-ish.

I think someone nailed it with a previous suggestion that eliminating Wallace and Mendy from the roster will probably do better for the chemistry of the team. We did some weed-pulling. Moving forward . . .

This is what I was hoping the Steelers might do a 1-2 year deal for not much money so he could prove himself. But I had a gut feeling that on a personal/business level he burnt all the bridges in Pitts.
