I don't think they trust Sutton on the outside. If you look at what he did with the Lions last year, they are probably right not to trust him there. His best position seems to be in the slot. I think that is part of why they let him move on in the first place. Then again, it may just be a matter of giving him time to be fully back up to speed since he did sit out the first half of the season. Maybe they will give him more to do as things move forward.

Yeah, he had some issues in Detroit, but I remember reading something about it being a poor system fit? I don’t know, but I’m nervous relying on Pierre, and Jackson seems to get hurt every game. Would be nice to get Trice back.

Per this article, Sutton played 655 snaps outside for us in 2022, and I recall he had a pretty good year for us. I agree that he’s better in the slot, and that’s where the team likely prefers him, but they should be more comfortable with him outside than Pierre.

I believe it's a been here, played, and practiced all Year with Queen calling the adjustments, and they are making sure He's good with that. Also giving guys that have earned it , playing time. You must have some of that , or others won't work as hard when they know there is not time for them.

The "poor system fit" in DET was putting Sutton on the WR1 for most of the season. That is a problem.

Pierre got lucky on the breakup he had against the Ravens. Could really have been DPI. Very inconsistent, with shade to the bad side.

Adams and Trice have been ruled out. Highsmith is doubtful.

They can't count on Trice at all he's made of glass.

Agreed. Pierre is awful, though for some reason, the Steelers seem to trust him more than Sutton on the outside.

I have been hearing from the local media that Sutton hasn't looked good since he returned, I haven't paid much attention to when he's in the game.

I never really thought Highsmith had much of a chance this week when he still wasn’t practicing Wednesday after our mini bye. Him being out really hurts our Defense I’m not liking our odds vs Cincy.

This team is incredibly healthy for this time of the season.

I hope Austin is a go this week, he has become the #2 WR mostly by default but he is tied for the most TD's on the team with 5 this year. Plus he is a sure handed punt returner who is always capable of breaking a big return.

We will see tomorrow on Wednesday. Trice either gets activated to the Active Roster, or spends the rest of the year on IR.

Well with the hits he took, I'm thinking he's out for a little while. Those were old school, make your stomach clench up hits.

From tomlin's conference today, it sounds like Highsmith is back and Austin is still in concussion protocol.

How hard the hit looked on television is not relevant to whether or not he will be able to play. Concussions are unique and unpredictable.

Knock on wood when you say or post stuff like that.

Getting Highsmith back is a very big step in the right direction, but let's see what happens with Austin, Trice, and Adams. Austin is becoming a big part of the offense, a threat the defense has to account for at all times. You can't say that about Williams or Jefferson.

The pass rush should be better with Highsmith even if his return does take Herbig off the field more. His presence allows them to rest Watt more. He also takes up many of the snaps Smith was getting, and he hasn't been getting much pressure on the quarterback since that first game with the team.

Both Williams and Smith have been very underwhelming since coming here.

Smith has been fine, but at this stage in his career, he is a significant downgrade from Highsmith. I do wonder if Tomlin and Austin can do something creative to get Watt, Highsmith, and Herbig on the field together for a few plays here and there.

We know he's small, but calling him Lil Calvin Austin is just mean.

the kid is tough and talented. some said our WR corp was terrible - it is not. it was just terrible QB play early in the season and the past 2 years , that held Austin back. QB and OC.....

    WHERE IS RO WILSON???
