The coaching this year with the exception of the Indy and Dallas games has more than fine. Were certainly not perfect and there are always some head scratchers. Outside of clock management and penalty challenges the game plans have been good enough.

    The issue has been execution.

We have had alot of Milk Carton Guys and ones you would not expect.

Keanu Benton - What is going on with him? Did he lose to much weight and strength and that is impacting his game? Have teams caught onto his swim move and he hasn’t developed another moves? What about his run stoppage?

Minkah Fitzpatrick - Yeah I know with him playing deep center field it is hard for him to be around the ball alot or in position to make plays when teams are avoiding him, but when he does have chances to make plays he is taking bad angles (Commanders game against Mcluarin) or missing tackles or just late to the ball (Cleveland Jerry Jeudy 4th quarter).

TJ Watt - Yes he is getting double teamed alot and chipped but I see him getting single blocked and being taken out of plays on single blocks as well. He just doesn’t seem to be as dominant this year as we has been over the course of his career.

Isaac Seaumalu - He has been up and down. He makes some good plays then he gets absolutely blown up on plays. He has really been hurting us of late in the run game. He is supposed to be the Alpha Male on the line and lead the youngsters.

Pat Frieirmuth - He is a great receiver and we don’t use him enough in that area but his blocking is downright terrible. He is a liability especially in those outside zone runs. I have seen him get blown back multiple times even by defensive backs. I don’t understand how that happens. Its not like Frieirmuth is standing still and they have a running start him.

Broderick Jones - What’s there to say. Penalties, missed blocks and at times it appears he is uninterested.

    * We are getting beat at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. We're gonna have are hands full against KC, Philly and Baltimore again if we can’t get this rectified.

I don’t know if the short yardage passing over the middle will ever be fixable with Russ. That isn’t his strong suit. I don’t know what the fix is for the run game. If guys are just getting beat on blocks and out manned I am not sure what the antidote to that is.

You can blame all of our 3 losses to bad coaching by not blitzing more when we couldn't get pressure from our 4 rushers. We let all three QB who we lost to Flacco, Prescott and Winsten have all the time to throw with no pressure and we lay back into soft zone and Minkah out of the picture.

Tomlins clock management and use of timeouts at the end of the first qtr against the Browns is something I wouldn’t even expect a middle school football coach to make. Plenty of blame to go around for this team including the coaching. Glad we are only at 3 losses but they could have won 2 out of 3 of them easily with slightly better coaching. Once Flacco came on the field for Indy I knew we were in trouble. He just has our number. He could be a back up for 5 more years and whichever team he plays for should consider starting him when facing us. LOL.

    the coaching?

We played INDY thinking it was a BYE week. We just lost to the BROWNS - much on BAD COACHING. and in Prime Time, we SHAT the bed, vs. a SUCK Cowbirls team, missing both starting OLB's b/c Smith and Tomlin could not figure out how to exploit that on offense.

We will see how this coaching is when the season is OVER. To grade NOW is juvenile but that is what many do - they want to hand out trophies mid season. Tomlin could be entering one of his late season SWOONS.

    Let's revisit this in January.

our schedule has been VERY FAVORABLE. We got ATL at the right now. Play them today and 6 FG's would not win it. We slipped by barely the Washington Team and played patty cake with the Ravens.

Take some time and watch this. I think you will change your mind. Sure there was some coaching to blame ... there always is, but the execution in this game was horrible. Seamualu and Moore really hurt us.

It wasn’t good enough in the Browns game where you absolutely had to win that game to put yourself in solid position moving forward to win the division. The clock management and timeout usage by Tomlin was just flat out inexcusable for a guy that has been coaching in the league for almost 20 seasons, and the play calling at critical moments by the offense was flat out atrocious and gave them no chance to win the game. This defense as well while they have been good they gotta be better late in games at critical moments. Just way too many big plays were allowed the other night in the snow that just can’t happen when you are playing a team like the Browns. You gotta finish the game and at times this defense has trouble doing that consistently.

There are issues with execution, too, but the coaching was also a big part of the three losses. Tomlin seemed to be flailing with the Fields package and all the odd fourth-down decisions Thursday night. The defense is still far too simple and passive. Rushing four from the same positions all the time just isn't working consistently enough. One of the few times they got aggressive Thursday night was Queen's blitz that forced what should have been intentional grounding. They needed to do more of that.

Disagree about coaching being good enough...we have Tomlin, that certainly squashes that theory. There are personnel issues for sure.

Broderick Jones is a train wreck, so far, huge bust of a pick. We do have Fatuanu coming back and hopefully taknig full control of one of the tackle spots, but we might have to dip into the second round of draft next year for an OT, sadly.

IT's obvious George Pickens is not THE guy. Too much baggage. I kind of hope they find a way to trade him and go WR in first round next year and again maybe in round 4 or 5. Need to revamp the WR room. Roman Wilson might come of age next year, but we need a top WR1 high upside prospect.

Did it ever occur to everyone on this board that what we are saying about some of our best players that they feel the same way we feel about the play calling, Tomlin with his clock management, the confusion in who is the QB this week. Hell it is wearing on us as fans, can you imagine working under those conditions in your own job situation. It would be a pain in the butt.

I haven't seen every team play, but I can't imagine any of them being more vanilla and boring on both sides of the ball than the Steelers.

Im bothered that Austin and Tomlin couldn't dial up more pressure on Jameis freakin Winston and that 2nd to 3rd string line. Specially when we have all that talent on defense. Its games like last Thursday that make me think Tomlin and his staff (Austin mostly) are overrated.

Tomlin is the worst coach I’ve ever seen in managing timeouts. He is really bad.

Tomlin is historically bad on Thursday nights, but very good coming off Thursday nights at 11-4. Hopefully that holds for Sunday.
