I don't have the all 22 so I cant tell if defenses are showing a stacked box but what about either one of the Heywards being a lead blocker and Warren follows between the tackles?

This would be in anything a yard or less and if successful...go into this formation and through to a TE once teams start seeing film of this.

    Thoughts?

No absolutely not. Cam has never played fullback and connor has been terrible while on the field this year. He got blown up a couple times in the Browns game. He isn’t big enough to be a fullback. Frieirmuth and Connor Heyward have bene a liability on offense when it comes to blocking.

    Maybe Washington
Something has to change other than ball possession to the other team. UGH

Until we utilize the middle of the field to back the Linebackers up it’s going to be difficult

One QB can't see the MOF
and the other just can't throw.

I know it can't be our RBs....because I have watched all 3 get blown up in the backfield on short yardage situations. Unless all 3 suck. LoL

I also have not watched the all 22 or really documented play calls, but I generally dislike our short yardage play calls. They're slow to develop and we so often throw deep or pitch it out.

Their short yardage plays are too predictable how about a quick pitch out wide to Warren sometimes, instead trying to run up the middle all the time .

Thanks for everyones feedback. That went over like a fart in church.
I dont have the stats to prove it but watching Bruce Arians call plays it always seemed like
he also gave away the play by the package and formation and was too stubborn to let the QB change it or at least it appeared that way.
    In Arthur Smith we trust.

More roll outs by Wilson then throw a quick pass to Muth or Washington.

handing off to back starting 4 yards behind line of scrimmage is not getting it done.

going back to Heath now to Muth - several times we've handed the ball off to the TE and it's worked. won't work every time but run it more than once a year.

Short yardage running starts and depends heavily on the center and the two guards

Two of those are rookies not all pros

And they are probably hitting the rookie wall

I see good things coming from them

With these extra days off I hope they work on these things, and no more excuses for not using Mike Williams going forward we just need 2-3 contested catches a game down field.

It seemed like at the beginning of the year they ran some QB sneaks and it worked. Maybe it was a dream

I know the best way to be successful on 4th and one is to just punt the ball. Or if it is 4th and one and we're in FG range then just kick the FG. Football is simple if the coaching staff just takes what's given them and don't out think themselves.

In the CLE game, as I commented during the game, we should have punted every time and played the field position game. ****ty conditions and, well, it's the Clowns. Why is getting one yard when we need it so hard? No idea. Seems easy for other teams.
