I read on PFT that Timmons might move to James Harrison's OLB position and sign Dan Conners to play Timmons ILB position. I thought about this and made some sense. Timmons had a good year last year, but I always thought Timmons will make a bigger impact playing outside. Timmons did play OLB couple of year ago in place of injured Woodley or Harrison, but did not do well. I think if he goes into a season knowing that he'll be playing OLB and preparing for it, I think he will do well. Timmons sort of reminds me of Chad Brown. Brown was a good ILB, but blossomed into a very good OLB.

Timmons hinted at it after the season. I thought of it after the Harrison cut, but couldn't find a link. He looked bigger and stronger in 2012 (to me anyway), so maybe moving him outside is part of the grand plan... I don't like it simply because he was awesome inside in 2012. If it ain't broke....

I agree. I'd hate for Timmons and our D to take a step back because of a switch.

I think Timmons is a better option than Worildly at OLB.

I saw the post you're talking about and laughed.

One thing to remember is these national guys don't watch what we do. Florio I'm sure has no clue that Timmons did play outside for nearly a whole season and was not good there at all.

He probably also doesn't know that Timmons is probably the most underrated ILB in the league... Not to mention the fact that we have Worilds and Carter to step into Harrison's spot, and absolutely no one to step into Timmons' spot if he moved outside.

Draft an OLB and keep Timmons inside. Why switch him when he plays so well inside now? That hinders the progress he has made when intially becoming an ILB.

Absolutely not. Dude has a great year at ILB and PFT wants to move him back out? .

Timmons struggled the last time he played OLB filling in for Harrison, he's coming off his best season leave him at ILB.

If they can tighten up the secondary to the point where Timmons doesn't have to back off all the time,,the guy is a beast at ILB, he sucked at OLB. It seems when Troy is back there, it allows Timmons to tear things up. When they're struggling in the secondary, Timmons disappears. Then the hate begins about over paying the guy.

I'm not against it if we can find a good ILB to take his place.

Timmons didn't look good at OLB last year, but I think there were a number of reasons for that that were not his fault...

If he totally dedicated himself to it starting in camp and onward, I think he could be a better OLB than he ever was at ILB.
