I just watched game highlights and Browns were smart how they played TJ. He'd beat a guy but they had another waiting for him. Slowed him down enough for that high QB to get rid of ball.

This isn't the first game this season where Watt hasn't done anything.

Yes, he’s maybe had 3 bad games. Even the great Jack Lambert wasn’t always dominate. No great player is. Why can’t we all just concede that Cleveland wanted it more when it mattered.

Garrett came in on a 2-win team and dominated, you can't have your best player Watt on defense be a no show this often.

If the coaches had a game plan to contain Garrett, I couldn't tell what it was.

Controlling Watt was clearly priority 1 for the Browns.

Watt has struggled this season. Why they don't move him around is a head scratcher. He is signed through the 2025 season. The front office has a decision to make to extend him or let it play out.

Minkah Fitzpatrick is signed through 2026. Has taken a step back. Let it play out.

Too many people can't distinguish between fantasy football and reality.

Not arguing stat sheets and fantasy numbers. Just talking about the conversation around the NFL on the best defensive pass rushers. Nearly every ex-DL or coach considers Myles Garrett the best in the game. I know what the numbers say, we all saw them repeatedly last season with TJ way ahead of Garrett in every category. I only mean the guys that do this for their living rank Garrett over Watt.

It doesn't really matter anyway, does it? If the entire world all held hands and agreed TJ was the 'bestest of ever'...it gets us no closer to the goal of another championship. Aaron Donald was considered the best by pretty much all. Now it's Myles Garrett. The Steelers are still much closer than the Browns.

I’m trying to remember during the Blitzburg days …. didn’t they used to sometimes stunt the OLB’s inside to cross with the Ends?

Also, do you guys think TJ might be dealing with an injury, or maybe he came into camp out of shape? I’m trying to really figure it out? Unless the NFL figured how to put him in check?

One of Garret's sacks was a stunt and he ended up going right past the center who didn't know what was going on.

All I recall from Steeler games is the OLB's lining up way wide and just trying to get around the OTs, but that's not definitive.

It’s not just him. Some HIGHLY paid no shows on D are under performing or in some case, not showing up at all. Institute a prorate clause on the multi multi million dollar contracts. They get the millions but it’s prorated per game, and performance. If they’re a no show on a particular game, they lose a % of their total take per performance.

Also, let’s eyeball this O line and look at each players performance for all to see. No pay check for you!

I think we are all spoiled by TJ Watt's career performance, he will have
to adjust (Steeler coaches) will have to adjust. He is game planned by opposing teams.
Steelers coaches and other defensive players also need to help out.

Exactly. It would be nice to see them run him on some inside stunts as well to mix it up. Ogunjobi is the real issue. With Watt getting doubled that should free Ogunjobi everytime as he is right next to him. You ever notice on short yardage plays where teams run its always on Ogunjobi side in his gap.

I mean it's like people are blind. He is playing great ball up until the Browns game. Perhaps he was exhausted from a short week? Sure he is getting older but he is damn good and can wreck a game.. Maybe he had a bad game. I mean it happens.

Nah, bro, he is still doing a great job in the middle. How many tipped passes. He has a huge motor that never gives up. He has five sacks this year. He had two last year (injured), and even in his best year, he had 12. If you want to see this defence regress, take Cam out of the equation. Not saying he won't digress. Father time is never wrong and he is at the wrong side but this years play has been pretty damn good if you ask me.

My aunt used to say that 40 years ago about the Broncos. It's a great idea. I'm sure the player's union would agree to it!
