The Atlanta Journal-Constitution says free agent Steven Jackson is "coveted by" the Falcons, Lions, Bengals, Steelers, and Packers.

Pittsburgh, Atlanta, and Green Bay make a ton of sense as contenders, but the Bengals and Lions have yet to be connected to S-Jax. Cincinnati and Detroit can't offer Jackson the full load of carries that Jackson wants, so they seem less likely. We still like the Falcons as his best fit. Mar 11 - 8:13 PM

I wonder if they're really interested or that's just saying the Steelers are a fit. If he wants carries he'd certainly get them here... but he'd have to sign very cheap.

I think this could make sense. Jackson is the epitome of a Steelers RB. He's big and he's a bruiser. The only question would be how much tread is still on the tires

I will say if Lacy goes in round 1, I thought ATL would be a likely spot... If they signed S-JAX that'd be one more team to hopefully push him closer to us in the 2nd.

He's spent a lot of time injured as far as I remember. Maybe they only want him because he used to be a Ram and they're hoping lightning would strike twice. LOL.

We could give him a competitive offer. A RB over 30 won't pull big bucks in this market. We were roughly 3.9 mill under the cap before the Foster signing. Woodley's restructure would save us 6 mill and by cutting Colon which is most likely going to hppen now that we signed Foster. We have enough money and the fit is perfect. Plus Jackson is one of Mike Tolmlin's favorite players in the league.

3 of those teams throw the ball all over the place and need a back that would be more of a reciever not a 20 carries a game guy. I just don't see him going to Detroit, GB, or Atl. Atl also has a decent young back in Rogers. Pitt would be the perfect fit, he has also gone on record saying he wants to play for a winner, well he could help us be a winner for sure.

When I listened to his interview on Sirius NFL radio the other day, he mentioned that he wants to be used in a variety of ways - not just as a 2 down runner. He wants to win (as in contend for a championship) and he wants to be the same 3 down bell cow back that he was for the Rams up until this past season. He also didn't say anything about money. The downside is that he's looking for something more like a 3 year commitment than a 1-2 year commitment.

Steven Jackson had 40 receptions last year. The guy is a very underrated receiver out of the backfield.
