Could we get Lacey in the second without trading up?

It has been reported that Lacey will not run at the Alabama pro day because of lingering leg issues (forget the exact nature). Could we stand pat in the second round and grab him then? I'd say this would increase our chances.

 

I read that we can. Only problem is that i think most people have him as 2nd or 3rd best back. Dont think any will go in first but once one is taken there may be a run on them. I would love to have him but have to take one that high.

 

If Lacey is the #1 rated runningback I don't know if he will still be there in the second round when the Steelers pick.

 

i think with the tenders of dwyer and redman now on the table, we will see more of a speed back added. that's not really lacey. he's a clone of what we just tendered. i'm betting on 3rd or 4th rd. or later for a RB.

lacy might not be around when we pick in rd. 1...... there're at least 4 teams picking ahead of us that will have a big need at rb, barring free agency... I know it's a bit high for him, but stranger things have happenned

 

I would be SHOCKED if this happened. He is not Richardson or anywhere near a talent to be taken that high. END of the 1st maybe...but not that early...thats just stupid...
