I don't see any of these QBs in the class of 25 as sure-fire franchise QBs.

I don't buy into that at all... There have been lots of Big Ten QB's that have been successful (Brees and Brady being the most prolific of late). Stroud looks to be bucking the OSU trend of course, but time will tell. Not to mention all of the other successful QB's that face lower competition at the college level.

Ben Roethlisberger, Kurt Warner, Tony Romo, Jake Delhomme, Jimmy Garoppolo, Carson Wentz, Brock Purdy, Steve McNair, Jon Kitna, Joe Flacco, Rich Gannon, etc., and that is just off the top of my head. There are tons of really good QB's that come from small schools (that face "subpar" competition) or even programs that aren't traditional powerhouses. That's just the QB's too. Its pronounced with nearly every position. I don't buy that the "faces bad competition" thing has any bearing on how a player turns our in the NFL because it is basically a proven fact at this point that it doesn't. Not sure why people still try to push this narrative?

Would 100% agree. Last year's class looked a lot better IMO. That doesn't mean one or more of them couldn't be good though. Just seems like a bigger reach that Quinn Ewers or Shedeur Sanders turns out to be a stud than Williams/Daniels/Maye did.

Sure it's true, when you have 5star players up and down
your roster that Ga.has ,his teammates are so much more talented
That it really the evaluation process is skewed because of one sided talent.

Before the season people were talking up Carson Beck as one of the top QBs to be drafted in the first round, he has been an interception machine this season.

Do You just see my name, and the desire to argue wipes all brain functions???
1st. Anyone on the board that knows me ....knows I picked CJ Stroud to be the best Qb to come out of Ohio State. Ever.
    2. Do not compare Ohio State with other big 10 schools. No big 10 school accumulate talent....year in, and year out like Ohio State.
    3. I never said anything about the other schools not having good Qb. That is an invention out of your mind.
    4. If You don't know the difference between playing with a team with 10 NFL prospects a year....against teams with maybe 2 NFL prospects a year. You really need to watch more football.
    5. Out of what I said that You quoted....had anything to do with what You argued. LoL
You just argued to argue. Because I said nothing of what You spent all that time writing.

Lmao, no we just have different wavelengths my guy... its all good.

    1. Same. That wasn't the argument though
    2. Why? You argued that it had to do with inferior competition, and the other Big Ten schools play essentially the same schedule. Unless you mean that every team that they play is worse than Ohio State, then why wouldn't the same thing apply to other universities like Alabama, Oklahoma, Clemson, Georgia, etc.? Because those teams play 90 percent of the games against teams that are worse than them too...
    3. Your argument was that the QB's turned out to be bad because they just lit it up against inferior competition. The other QB's mentioned played inferior competition and it didn't affect their ability to be an NFL QB.
    4. That is all of college football? It's not like OSU is a FCS team... they play just as many games against bad teams as any other high end program outside of maybe the SEC.

Dude go back , and read again what I originally said.
    LoL.
The problem is not playing on a inferior team, or playing on a super team. The problem is playing on a super team that plays mostly inferior teams. Then it becomes hard to really see if a Qb, or player is good. Yet all that flew over Your head , and you argued something I wasn't even talking about. Of course all types of team have talent, and do You think I have watched the College game, and the NFL since the 70s, and didn't know all those players that have made it???
In fact it's easier to see a talented player on a inferior team, but that's not what I was talking about, but somehow you morphed it into that. LoL.
The problem is Ohio State is a far superior team in talent to most the teams they play.....so it's hard to judge the individual players on Ohio State.....yet You somehow change that into something totally what I wasn't even talking about.

Anyone else having "Kenny Pickett Flashbacks" with Carson Beck?! I know I am. Granted, he has more arm talent than Pickett ever did at Pitt but Beck is very rhythm and timing dependent. Excellent for an Offense like Mike McDaniel (hint hint). Not such much though for a PA Heavy Offense like Arthur Smith's.

Garrett Nussmeier from LSU could be a potential Day Two option... though he will clearly need time to sit as well. Russell Wilson playing until 2027 would be ideal though it is likely that 2026 could be it for him. Nabbing someone like Nuss could be the way to go given his NFL Bloodlines; something the Steelers seem to covet a bit. For me though, I have been consistent with three QBs the Steelers may get; one of them in Allar clearly needing to head back to Happy Valley for another go.

Jalen Milroe would be my personal choice for drafting a QB in Round One. Reminds me very much of Jalen Hurts/Justin Fields coming out. This time though, our version of "Justin Fields" can get acclimated the right way by sitting behind Russell Wilson and learning the game.

TBH I don't think that drafting QB in round 1 is the right choice this time around. I'd rather get younger on the OL or bring in a high end weapon for the offense (WR or RB). It really feels like we are going to stick with Russ if he continues to play well and take a shot at winning it all. If we do that, I'd prefer we gear up for that instead of sitting someone for the future.

I'm on record for Nussmeier. He could possibly fall to our 2nd rd pick, and that would be ideal. Sitting behind Russ for a year or two would be perfect. However, I have a feeling he may go back to LSU if he's not a projected 1st rd pick.

Beck reminds me a lot of Drew Lock. Same height, same weight, and probably same projection of a 1st round pick who gets all dressed up to go to the draft and finds himself all alone in the green room on the 2nd day.

Didn't say they were... Just that I think that either of them have a better chance of being one than any of the QB's in this class.

I’m very surprised that Bo Nix is balling out.

Yeah, he looks nice. Daniels has been balling, Maye has looked pretty nice considering he has like 0 weapons, and Nix has really come on. Even Williams has had his moments. Daniels looks to be the only sure-fire better than average QB right now, but the other 3 have a reasonable shot too.

    I am not.

Bo Nix having Sean Payton was arguably the best combination among Rookie QBs exiting the 2024 NFL Draft. The only other one that would make sense would be the likes of Kliff Kingsbury and Jayden Daniels. Fun fact; Kliff coached Caleb at USC and wanted to go to Chicago but Ryan Poles didn't allow that to happen due to the fact that Poles believed that Kliff would be offered a Head Coaching gig the following season should Caleb ball out like he was supposed to. Long story short?! Loyalty of Matt Eberflus over improving the Bears with a supposed generational talent in Williams.

I wouldn't be surprised. That said, will Garrett stomach Brian Kelly again?! I seriously doubt it and I'd imagine that Garrett wants out of LSU.

Now, if he goes to another School?! That would be interesting for 2026... should he continue to improve.
