I contacted the Steelers marketing department and the game will only be on Netflix and not on local TV

They said get a free trial if need be but I just looked and their page says they don’t have one

Yep. The complaints about the Tyson/Paul fight on Netflix are not just that way too many people thought it would be more than an exhibition style fight, but a lot about the freeze ups during the fight as well. I didn't watch but read about it on my news feed this morning. That clip of the Commanders Hail Mary vs the Bears seems accurate to what I read.

I watched a Super Bowl a few years ago over at my buddies house on a streaming service. The ball was tipped and was heading for a defender in the area and then froze in midair for about 45 seconds while it rebooted. After watching the uneventful Tyson fight last night and how bad it was I can expect the same or bite the bullet and actually go to the game.

Did you watch the fight last night? Netflix was completely unprepared for the volume of viewers they had. Most of the undercard was completely unwatchable due to streaming issues. The Serrano v Taylor fight was epic, and I had to go back and rewatch it because it kept buffering live.

Not an embarrassing take at all. The meme is spot on.

Oh yeah I watched. Had some buffering issues during preliminary fights, but none during the Tyson fight. I all but guarantee there were far more people watching that fight than will be watching the Christmas Day game. Even if there are an equal number of viewers I’m pretty positive Netflix will have learned from their mistake

Funny part was that the video froze while Jerry Jones was talking about people WATCHING NFL on Netflix. That was while he was repeating himself because the mic was not working so Michael Irvin handed him his mic. Amateur hours

Yeah I'm not familiar with a free trial anymore. I get it for a couple months and then cancel. Because I get bored not seeing anything new that i feel cool to watch.

Can't read the leaves in the future. but Goodall has already said there might be 8 games played out of the country next year. The Jags at times (or recently) have 2 in London, even so that means nearly half of the league will be playing a game out of this country. This package (or packages) fit into a streaming service and bring more bucks to the greedy owners. Extend the season to 18 games (it is coming), add an additional bye week, expand playoffs by a team, and the schedule over a season may include more midweek games. Screw the quality of the product on the field and screen, fans are going to pay because that is what we do. lol

I am pretty sure I was told "HERE", that all NFL games get broadcast on local TV. I guess I shouldn't believe everything I read HERE. :)

I think the Local Channels have always broadcast every game no matter if the game was on streaming service like Amazon or Peacock. Not sure why Netflix would be any different.

Christmas Day Games coming to Netflix? | TheSteelersFans

A few comments in this thread said it was available on Local TV, when I asked about the News article saying Exclusive. Agree, I have never heard of an NFL game not being broadcast locally.

That’s why I’m here to let you know

The game will only be on Netflix

    Unless Mr Rooney steps in

A poor cut and paste from an email I received

    Hi,

The game will only be on Netflix. If you don’t have Netflix, you can sign up for a free trial that week so you can watch the game.

    All the best,

Wow. That is going to piss a lot of people off. Besides the locals, the game will not be available on Sunday ticket either.

We were warned when the NFL put out that press release and it said "games will be only on Netflix"

Odd. I wonder if that means they are going to block it on NFL+ Premium, too. Normally, if a game is on in your area, you can watch it live there.
