What a difference it makes when the punter is not obese but is an actual athlete.

kudos to whoever in the org that made that basic realization. I feel this season punting is actually having positive impact for the team every game.

And this is despite this is a backup punter!

Yesterday he had his first bad punt of the year in the 3rd quarter I think....Last few years,it was at least 1-2 bad punt every game!

I have always felt it is the most underrated position in NFL. Field position is huge in NFL games. When are Punter went down I got worried but this guy has filled in very good.

    Ray Guy appreciates your post;)

Guy was a 1st round pick for the raiders, the only P to ever be taken that early. 8x all pro, 3x SB winner, HOF...one time I think you can say it was worth taking a P in the 1st round.

Just read in his bio, his Sr year he was a safety with 8 ints and was named an all american, also inducted into the college HOF as well.

Who was the kicker they drafted in the 1st round??? Never mind I remember. Seabass. LoL. S. Jankowski. Your comment made me think of him.

It wasn't even that bad, still went over 40 yards.

K/P Russell Erxleben was drafted in the 1st round by the Saints. They originally planned on using him as both their kicker and punter, but ended up being used primarily as a punter.

34 yards. Pretty sure it was into the wind. Same direction Russ through his 55 yard interception. It wasn't the typical moonball, he had to throw lower and harder to get through the wind.

Thanks, I stand corrected. One bad punt in 9 games, I'll take it.

These guys seem to have up and down periods. I remember when he was with us in camp and they chose Harvin, he went to Denver I believe and started out well, then faded. Was in a couple of other camps and or PS, is doing well here.

Sad, but true. One of the worst 1st round picks of all time.

If athletics determined a punters ability, Daniel Sepulveda wouldn’t have been a colossal bust

To be fair, he had some pretty good pressure on him on that punt if I recall.

Yeah, he was barely able to get it off. Harvin would've shanked it for 25 yards.
