You get a 1st down if You get it vs an automatic 3 points for the other team if You don't . It's a dumb call. If it's the end of the game, and You need it, but it wasn't. It was dumb

We are on to face the Ravens who have the worst Pass Defense in the league. I kind of was shocked when they said this Thursday Night, as I have always assumed that the Ravens had a good defense. Loosing Hamilton isn't going to help improve that defense.

Exactly! Well said. I like the play design. I give them credit for getting an open look. But that doesn't make it a good call. The risk wasn't worth the reward.

Just watched it again, and no, it was dropped at around the 35 yard line with two Washington players approaching. It would have taken a good pass to Pierre in stride, by a safety not a QB, to get much further.

We talk about the fake punt who cost 7 points for the steelers, the fumble punt for the commanders in the second quarter also cost 7 points to them but this is even for me

Don't forget the Preston Smith trade either! Nick Herbig is coming back but Hamstring injuries are tricky to contend with. Never know how those will play out. Preston Smith was just as much of a factor in the win against [NAME REDACTED].

Baltimore is up next though. Should Pittsburgh win against Baltimore, the AFC North is firmly in control of the Steelers.

Analytics says an opponent has almost the same probability to score from a punt at the 15 yard line as they would from a possession at the 15 yard line.

Jeh - Isn't that the same thing you said when Marie Antoinette lost her cabeza?

PS - I suppose Mrs Lincoln could have said the same.

Analytics are simply numbers and probabilities. They are neither smart nor dumb. That is left to the people using/not using them.

I know what they are, but in anything that involves pain, fear, fatigue, and heart it's a waste. That's why it's great in some sports , and stupid in other to rely on. Because it never really factors in any of that.

It most certainly factors into it.

Does it factor into sports as that include pain, fear, fatigue, and heart as equally as much with poker, ok not as much.

But it most definitely factors into it.

    Especially over an entire game.

The more people argue and the more I think about it the more I love the call. But that is me and how I live. It has worked well for me.

People buy bonds after a market drop. Others buy equities.

You can be wrong, and we can disagree, but it doesn't make me not like You. LoL.
I live pretty good, and I still go risk vs reward. I don't risk 5 acres of land for a small lot, but I will risk 5 acres for 20 acres....risk, and reward...Analysis work well for sports that pain, heart, fatigue, and fear doesn't have as much to do with the game....not so well in other sports, and No...analytics doesn't factor in pain, and fear.

LoL. It's terrible I didn't agree with You. Also Mike Tomlin agreed with the Fake Punt I didn't. So your response made no sense

Which has zero input on my opinion

LoL. Bill Cowher would never have run that fake Punt with a lead in pretty much his own red zone. He can say what He wants now, but I watched Him his whole career. He's not fooling me. He wouldn't even hardly go for a 4th down with a lead. So.....please. LoL.
Funny. I'm one of the biggest Tomlin supporters on this board, and I disagree with him once, and people Keep coming at me about this. LoL
