I was very skeptical about the change at QB at the 4-2 start. I was wrong. I was at the game and the guy next to me goes they haven’t taken too many deep shots tonight. Boom 50 yard bomb to Pickens right on the money. It’s so nice to have that again. We haven’t had that since pre Ben injury. It opens things up. Didn’t like that fumble but he’s been very effective stat wise in two games.

Russ had some sweet throws tonight, wish he would have finished with more than just one TD.

Russ balled out tonight. He even spread the ball around quite effectively. I feel like were always going to have a good chance to be competitive when he’s under center, provided he stays healthy.

Russ has exceeded my expectation after watching him in Denver. He seems like the Russ of old. The touch is still there along with pocket awareness. He might have lost a bit on his fastball, but it seems adequate as he has better anticipation than let's say Fields.

Wonder how John Elway feels about now paying all that money for him to win on another team?

During the game I was watching the box score and like you I thought Russ was spreading it out nicely

Hey S.T.D, I looked up QB's with at least 1 TD pass a game in a row. Russell is not close. Brees had 54 straight and that other guy whose name starts with B had 52. I thought that 20 sounded to small.

Ben hit 30 straight from 2012 to 2014.

Russ is doing exactly what is needed of him and it has given the whole offence a lift. Teams have to respect the pass over the top now and it’s making life easier for everyone.

Really hope they add another receiver before the trade deadline. An injury to George Pickens would be unthinkable. Speaking of Pickens has any receiver had more bad luck in terms of big plays getting called back? Every TD or chunk plays seems to have a flag following it. He is playing better than his stats show.

The one gripe I have for the game, even though it was a win, is how underutilized Muth is.

Having Russell at QB is going to open things up for the running game, we should start seeing less stacked boxes.

Steelers are only going to keep 1 QB out of Wilson and Fields for 2025. Right now, looks like Fields is gonna be the odd man out.... which sucks, because he would be a great #2, but he will get interest from other teams. Steelers need to draft QB in 1st or 2nd round.... sign Wilson to a 3-4 year deal in '25. Keep Allen as #2-3.

That’s true. We could probably get by with the receivers we got, but any injury would be devastating to the team.

I wasn't a fan of the timing of the change, as we had some momentum and it was risky to put in a rusty guy coming off injury in games of the magnitude the last two were. That being said, the offense does look more explosive with Wilson out there. We are play-calling a bit more aggressively, and Russ seems a bit more willing to cut it loose down field than Fields was. We were definitely a lot more efficient in the Red Zone with Fields than Russell has been, but maybe that is due to rust? Or maybe the red zone is just where we can throw Fields in when needed.

I definitely think that we should be sticking with Wilson, as I think we gain a little bit more in the "explosive" department than we lose in the red zone department. Fields was playing well enough as the 15th rated passer in the league through his first 6 games. Russ has been the 3rd highest rated passer taking his first two games into account. Not much more to consider in my opinion. We had "good" with Fields, we're getting "better" with Wilson at this moment. Hopefully that continues, and it is nice to know that we have a QB sitting on the sideline that is better than the starter for half the league.

Fluid. This is what you get with Wilson. Battle tested, Field General.

Sees the whole field, reads the defense, spectacular play action game. A functioning fluid offense.

I was juiced up when Tomlin had him going to start last week. And their is no looking back.

If Wilson wins a playoff game, they should consider paying him 30 million.

Maybe even 40 million especially now a lot of QBs in the NFL have over 50 million a year...But we have to see how it ends up this year with Wilson

Wilson has won a Superbowl .......he is a great player,,,,,,,,,, whatever happened in Denver was not right.......It was probably the coach............. I think he will give us a great chance for 7,,,,,,,,, as in Superbowl wins...ride the Skittles rainbow with Wilson..... It is definitely Black and gold now..........right down the black and yellow brick road..
