His punt return for a TD really changed this game for the Steelers, and he has the most TDs of any Steelers receiver this season.

He is starting to become the weapon that we all hoped he would be. One thing for sure no one is catching him from behind

The young man has blazing speed. It was a beautiful return. I’m so glad that we have a punt returner. Not sure we’ve had one since AB or Santonio?

It was only a matter of time before he took one all the way. I do believe the Steelers got away with a running into the kicker penalty and it should have been called back but officiating is just terrible as usual.

    True playmaker!

Also last year he had a bad year but he was in a bad situation too with all-time bad OC and bad QB

I’ve been on board since the beginning. He’s a legit slot guy. Just don’t expect him to be the #1 or #2.

Austin played a fantastic game. Who knew. Not me I was trashing him and calling him expendable the very same day he proves me wrong :facepalm::facepalm:

CAlll is a good #3 or #4 receiver, underrated athleticism just lacks size

Austin is a legit #3. Still need that elusive #2. Jefferson is also a #3 or #4.

I made a right turn with you Miss Daisy

In reality it was one game and 2 good plays in 1 1/2 years

Let’s see how the season progresses

He has made other explosive plays over that year and a half, but yes, one offensive play doesn't suddenly make him a reliable starter.

He is such a nice young man, I wish the Steelers could figure out how to get him the ball
more. Not sure he could take the physical beating?

I hope he continues to improve his production

    Good for him Sunday

So far in 1 1/2 years he has had 3 good games as a receiver and 1 as a punt returner

I’ll get excited when he puts something that resembles a season

In the unlikely event we sign another receiver he will hit the bench as a receiver

Diontae was a good returner his rookie year, but he became too involved in the offense to keep back there.

Ray Ray McCloud was pretty good... never scored but had a high average per return. Gunner Olczewski... was a disaster lmao

That was always a terrible comparison. Archer was a running back. He was too small for that position and very limited in his ability to run routes when they tried him at receiver. He just wasn't a good football player.

Austin was always a receiver and a damn good one in college. Maybe that won't translate to the NFL, but he is already far better than anything they saw from Archer.

    not sure

VJ can be a #2. he needs time and a QB that can throw - which he now has

Jefferson is not a rookie. He is in his fifth year in the NFL and this is already his third organization. He was cut loose in the middle of the 2023 season. In that career, he has struggled to even hold on to a No. 3 receiver role. Sure, he made a pretty catch last week, but he has not produced much this season. The evidence strongly suggests that he is miscast as a No. 2 receiver in any offense and his presence is holding Wilson back from being even better.

injuries. this is his first year fully healthy AND with a good team. ATL sucks

watch and learn. Russ likes him, had him on another couple TD the past 2 weeks, balls were wither blocked or he got his feet tangled with a defender.

that kid has plenty of talent. it shows. Stafford loved him.

What I've seen is a guy who disappears for massive stretches of time, something he has done throughout his career. I also saw his misread of an obvious opening Monday night cost the Steelers a touchdown on their second possession. He is five years into his career, so kid is a bit misleading.

The problem is that the Steelers sat on their hands too long. Mike Williams won't help much. Unless they can get somewhere on Slayton, there isn't anybody left who is a big upgrade.

well, they sort of did. I think they really believed they would land Aiyuk. I did.

Then WR's all over the league went down.

I think they really wanted Adams, but again - he was destined for NY.

Generally speaking, your roster is your roster by Aug 1. Most of us know that.

There is no guarantee that any WR can come in here NOW mid season, learn the play book and make impact. We will disagree on VJ - my point is he hasn't had much of a career - OF COURSE he disappeared - with a 2 yr knee injury - but we can watch and see if he gets better. He has shown me that he is talented. I'llbet he shows up more and more in weeks to come. don't hate him when he starts making more plays! ;)

no need to rehash the whole DJ thing. for many reasons, they moved him on, including a future contract which they had no interest in.
