I do like some of the positions on paper but the OL which I thought would be a huge strength right now between injuries or performance looks like crap. They can still turn it around and hopefully will.

Have to believe A Smith is better than the worst NFL OC of all time

Gotta coach them up, some of these players need to play with urgency that they're not doing right now.

I had high hopes for Smith's offense, I also thought Canada was historically bad as an OC and that Smith could breathe air into the O. Maybe he can, he's only been OC for two horrific pre-season debacles, but I doubt they are holding back all their good stuff for the season. Sooner or later they need to see if their stuff will actually work against a hostile defense. Maybe I am off base,, but I have difficulty understanding how players, use Broderick Jones as an example, can seemingly totally forget how to play. OK, he was at RT, but he played there last year. Plus he has been playing either RT or LT proobably since he was 7. The basic job is blocking, slow somebody down at least. There are others that seemed to be lost in the wilderness, but he appeared to be the most clueless. I don't have an answer, and I'm afraid Tomlin and his merry men don't either.

Anyone is better than Canada, but that might not be good enough. I'm not going to panic after two bad pre-season games, but things are looking worse than expected so far offensively

I don't care if Smith is good or not in the preseason.I have no problem if the offense is very vanilla in the preseason.....The judgment on him will start in week 1 and let's hope our o-line won't be as bad this year as they were after 2 preseason games, otherwise it'll be impossible to evaluate Smith as OC

The strange thing is how are you evaluating players if they are going to run plain vanilla in a shortened preseason. Camp is shorts and you cant go 1-3 to start the first quarter of the season and then it just clicks. Man oh man do we miss the days of full pads practices. I truly believe the collective bargaining agreement of virtually eliminating padded practices changed the physical culture of the Steelers. The practices used to be wars that prepared the mind and body. Yes injuries can be a result of teams seemingly were better prepared.

    Is this shocking news?

ATL last season was 3rd in rush attempts and 25th in pass attempts.

What I really hate is they ALWAYS run on 2nd and long. WHY??? And tosses to Najee have worked only once!

don't like tosses to Najee - like to keep him N / S for the most part. Send WARREN outside

Of course we are high in rush attempts, Fields rushed a lot too which boosts those #'s

Russ will start to drop those percentages.

Huge improvement in TOP and point differential in now 7 total games for Arthur. That offense Sunday night looked like a functional offense and it was the first game for Russ.

The big plays were fun, but the little pass plays that took chunks of yards due to timing is what got me fired up. Arthur is doing exactly what they planned to do with the personnel they have.

And agree...thought the OL was really good Sunday night.

yes - and #80 - i forget but some did say he was a bust and a waste. I said no way, kid is a MONSTER, feed him. They will. we can roll with this offense. It is what Tomlin and Khan saw when they brought in AS and started to put this together. It was our reason for optimism before injuries tore things up in July and August.

It is not the Killer B's or the Greatest Show on Turf, but it can be a functional offense. This run game too can be NASTY, as we saw later last year.

THAT plus this SOLID Defense. and we go to battle!

I guess someone will have the most catches but can you really have too many good receivers

I've been preaching that Washington has been open....even back to last year.....Hell I accused K. Pickett of maybe just not liking him. Then I pointed out for a few games this year that they were chipping with him, and letting him run out, and he was wide open a few time, and low and behold.....Wilson finally was the one to see him. Now the D will have to cover that, and leave something else open.

All I know is Wilson/Smith used every single player in the O last game AND I don’t necessarily know what play is coming all the time. Now it’s only umm, let’s see, maybe a little over a quarter of the time?

I’ll take it, better than it’s been.
