I agree. This is part of his job and maybe, just maybe, he is showing some maturity by saying what he did. Doesn't matter if he was completely honest or not. To the outside the should present a united front and work out the issues behind the closed doors. I hope this is Ben evolving!

It is probably safer to blame a poor season on fuzzy things like "leadership" or "team chemistry" than admit that your talent was lacking. With all the injuries and folks recovering from injuries, we just weren't good enough last year.

I'm glad he spoke out. We need to put an end to this before mini camps, and training camps because all it creates is a distraction. The media feeds off of this, but the last thing we need after an 8-8 season is a distraction going into this season.

    Well shoot!
There goes the offseason media propaganda misconceptions. What will they ever talk about now?

If this team is truely PO'd about this past 8-8 season then I can't wait til camp starts. I want to see a serious attitude from this 2013 roster. From the head coach right down to the punter. The Steelers are well overdue for a season where they put up consistent double digit scoring wins. Hopefully these guys can deliver but only time will tell how disgusted they were with the mediocrity that was exhibited last year.

Media propaganda? It was our own players saying this stuff. Can't blame the media on this.

Wow! Maybe Ben is FINALLY developing into the kind of leader he's capable of being. I've been a little frustrated with Ben over his lack of leadership up to this point in his career. It's nice to see him speaking up and taking the bull by the horns here.

If it was a rumor that started this then the media is pouring gasoline on it. If it was indeed stated by a player then I take back what I say.

I have a feeling that one of the coaches who split said that, one quote specifically sticks out in my mind as something a coach would say "he tells us he is working out but we never see it", that sounds like a coach to me.

I'm glad he spoke up. Not that it will stop the media from trying to create bigger stories out of smaller issues, but I'm glad he said something.

I truely believe that the best thing to happen to Ben was to have a son of his own. If that doesn't change a person then nothing ever will.

I agree but I think Ben started down the right path after he saw how close he came to ruining his life in Georgia. Having a son should solidify it.

This team needs to shut up and play better football, this is the Pittsburgh Steelers not the New York Jets.

I remember when a coach one time called Lloyd and acted like he was a player from another team we were about to face ( Jacksonville I think) to motivate him. If I remember right he was in a bit of a slump, think it was his last year with the Steelers.
