Great article from a Jets writer about how to take advantage of Steelers defense. It’s why I have been preaching for Tomlin to both blitz more and play press man coverage in stead of a soft zone defense. If we don’t change up our defense Rogers is going to dice us up.

If we stay in that zone and not blitz some, Rodgers will tear us apart.

We do get Highsmith back this week. At least to start off, we'll see how the groin injury holds up.

Minkah needs to not be the single high or the deep safety .. He needs to be in the box as a monster man/ robber ...IMO the Jets will look for fast hitting routes looking for yac ..We need a wild card in the box ....

Disagree 100%. Minkah roaming the deep allows others to play more aggressively up close. Minkah isn’t Troy P.

Nope he is not but he needs to be in those passing lanes if he gets deep they will throw and catch and it will turn into a track meet.....

Is there a safety that you trust to play single high or do you want to play a soft mix of Cover 3, Cover 2 and Tampa 2 and give up intermediate passes all day while Minkah tries to jump short routes?

Actually I would like to play man/zone zero coverage ..Man up on the outside zone across the middle congest the middle and Force Rodgers to hold the ball longer ...Mix in some bracket coverage but mainly take away the simple pitch and catch stuff ....IMO he is to smart and to accurate and will hi

Nope cover zero man/zone clog up the middle make AR hold the ball longer ..Basically prove the OL can hold up and force AR to connect on the deep passes.. I am afraid if we play a soft zone he will carve it up ...

Blitzing will get us torched. Mr darkness retreat gets rid of the ball too fast. We play press man and beanie gets abused

Cover zero vs. A Rod with Garret Wilson and now Davante Adams? Nope. That’s a recipe for giving up back breaking big plays downfield. I agree with being more aggressive in coverage, but I mix Cover 1 man, 2 man, and some occasional zone looks, with Minkah on the back end most of the time to keep Rodgers from just going over the top. What I do differently from our tendencies is get away from our 4 man rush tendencies and risk some 5 and 6 man rushes on a few key plays to give him something different from what he’s been seeing on film. He can’t be allowed to settle into a comfort zone with knowing what defense he’s going to see on each down and distance.

I was watching the Buccaneers vs the Saints last week and Bowles was coming up with a free rusher on nearly every defensive play. The Buccs were getting a QB hurry, QB scramble, or a QB hit 2 out of 3 snaps. I want to see some of this type aggression from our front 7. Our DBs can make plays when asked.

Totally agree, but I believe we have been blitzing about 23% of the games, and I think it went up a little last week, but that maybe because we didn't have Herbig, or Highsmith.....so they felt they had to

so you would rather play two high soft shell zone? Just jet him pick us apart and tackle the catch. Death by a thousand cuts. I’m not saying blitz on every play but at least be innovative and mix in some occasional blitzes, stunts etc.

You are right Bishop is a real problem but that duesn’t mean you have to play JPJ ten yards off. You can play half man and half zone.

Belicheck would double double up on Wilson and man up on Adams with JPJ to try to take away Rogers assets. He would then blitz the gell out if Rogers. That is the difference between him and Tomlin. Bellicheck was slit more aggressive.
