Mike Tomlin press conference Russell Wilson is the likely starter now

I don’t agree with this move, to be honest. Fields hasn’t been elite, but he’s also not done anything to lose the job.

Regardless, I am excited to see what Wilson can do. I imagine Tomlin won’t be afraid to roll with Justin again if Russ fails.

Agreed, I fully expect to see Fields out there doing the RPOs against the Jets.

Funny back in my day with "Slash", we called it the Triple -Option. And it worked great at the goal line and in short yardage.

 

no one is assuming anything. Fields does himself no favors by jumping around. Starting over young again and again gets him nowhere. I'd bet he'll take a very favorable 3 - 4 yr deal to stay here. We will see that Tomlin and Khan think in Jan and Feb.

 

All depends on how he takes this benching. I am assuming we will be bidding for his services in the off-season against multiple teams.

 

The why is Josh Allen taking so many hits this season.

Because he is a gun sling he hold on the ball for big plays, plus his WR core is no where near as good as last year.

 

I'm not surprised at all, but for the first time in a lot of years, I don't know that I honestly have a preference right now. Fields had done well enough to help us get to 4-2 (with some good D in *most* games), but not enough that I think Wilson shouldn't get a shot to show what he can still do. It will be very interesting to watch this play out for sure.

 

did fields already trip the trade clause moving the conditional pick to an earlier round??

 

We have a disgruntled WR whose best route is the go route .. Wilsons's best ball is the deep ball in fact he ranks #1 in completion of those since 2016....

If these guys can hook up a few times a game it should open the field up for the run game and the shorter routes..

You have been here long enough to know that Tomlin will not let someone lose their job to injury. RW was brought in to be QB1 and Tomlin never updated the depth chart to reflect any different. So we knew we were going to see Russell at some point. Not making any predictions but Wilson will see field better but won't have the ability to move around like Justin. It will be interesting to see what RW can do. Sprinkle in some JF for trick plays and you got yourself a winning recipe.

 

Yeah Justin Fields is our most electric runner, I hope they have a few play calls for him.
