Well, as armchair coaches, we can all make an educated better or worse decision if he plays......lol

will Fields be a WR for us or a trick play player-- not using him would be foolish

Gotta say, I'm surprised that he'd make the change at QB but I'm for it. I really feel like it's worth a shot to see what Russ can do.

Don't mess with me right now! You serious?

I'm very happy. But let me be clear I still like fields. Fields plays to win. Fields can run. But his passing game is below average. And that's just not going to cut it in the post season.

I believe wilson will have a better passing game. And I'm sure he'll have interceptions due to passing more...... and if you hate on that, then I hope you look at what the ratio is for quarterbacks.

Lastly..... can we put fields in for the redzone? And backfeld?

I’m shocked but many on here have been clamoring for it. We will see how it works out.

Interesting take by fitipaldo. Tomlin says Wilson was a full participant last week and will work towards knocking the rust off this week. Which makes him a consideration for this week and they will see what practice brings.

Question: How does Wilson immediately make this team better?

    Answer: Play-Action.

Ryan McCollum Steeler debut starting at Center.
Russ Wilson Steeler debut starting at QB.

Could be the shot in the arm this offense needs.

Hope you're ready for 30 dump-offs and 7 sacks each game. Wilson with this OL, especially B Jones wiffing on every play, will have zero time to throw and he can't run like Fields. I think they're gonna have a tough time scoring.

Wilson will likely see the field better, I like Fields but I hear often from the media that he misses open receivers.

I feel that Wilson will start against the Jets. And should. Shake off the rust. Need to see it. Fields I believe will have certain plays.

While some of you are smiling ear to ear keep in mind that this means Fields will be the starter next season.

But probably their plan all along. Drafting a QB just a pipe dream by the fans.

How does this mean that Fields is the starter next season? I’m not seeing the leap in logic. If the coaching staff was confident in Fields, he would be the starter Sunday.

That Jets defense had trouble stopping the Bills rookie RB, the Steelers could have their top 3 RBs back for this game.

Last I checked Fields is not under contract next year.

Not sure why you would assume that someone who does not have a contract is even on the team next year

If the offense looks better with Wilson and they go deep in the playoffs, Wilson will be back for at least one more year.
