Is AS trying to not so subtly he is not a Russell Wilson fan?

Steelers OC Arthur Smith says he's really enjoyed working w/ Justin Fields.

"There's no drama to him. He doesn't try to live through his avatar or create a perception. That's probably why he was so endearing to his teammates in Chicago. ... Extremely coachable, extremely bright."

Of course he's coach able cause he sucks. What did anyone think they were getting? I said this in another post and I'll say it here again, Wilson had 26 TD passes last year...fields won't have that in 2 seasons.

I don’t think so, think he is just talking about how it has been working with Fields so far. As far as I can tell, Wilson has left the drama in Denver but everyone knows he has been like that in the past.

But we aren’t privy to what goes on behind closed doors. Maybe Wilson is acting out because he isnt starting. According to one report, he has been healthy for the last two weeks.

How do you see something positive said about one person and decide it’s a dig at someone else entirely?

Coin Cowherd just did a segment on it...he sure took the opportunity to say that is exactly who Arthur Smith was talking about.

Well, as OC, I doubt I would say " Fields is a great kid, he just sucks at QB."
That would cause a lot of turmoil.

Cowherd brought this up and mentioned Russ's exit from both Seattle and Denver, trying to bridge that with Smith's comment. Have no idea if it was a subtle dig or just a statement focused on him working with Fields, regardless we will see if underlying tensions explode on the coming weeks.

Really? Like you never made a statement to someone that was supposed to be heard by some other "statementor"?

Russ has never played for Chicago.

Seriously, Russ is known for being extra. I don't know that it was taking a shot at Russ directly, or just letting players understand what he likes and expects.

Smith was here when the Steelers signed Wilson

Smith had to have wanted Wilson or the signing would not have happened

    No story here

It's a 0 sum game. To be positive about one player, you must therefore be negative about another player.
And we complain that it's the media trying to create problems where there aren't any.

If Cowturd said it then I’m definitely inclined to believe the opposite

Pulled this comment from another thread, but it made me think about the Arthur Smith comments. Still seems weird?

The production on the field is what counts. Wilson is the better passer. If we have any chance at a player run its with him not Fields. Hanratty, Batch, Rudolph, they’re all nice guys, but they were backups. Fields with all his athletic ability is still a backup.

Many of the greats were not exactly nice guys (Ben? Terry? Just on our team)

I think Terry was an exceptionally well liked guy

And I know he was really nice outside of football

He used to come home from practice and play catch with the kids in his neighborhood

I know one who was his next door neighbor

did not know, my bad assumption. I thought because he didn't get along with Chuck that he could be difficult. Sounds like he’s not really like that.

I think Chuck just had a no bull**** approach and Terry needed a little more hand holding
