Yep, that would be a block in the back alright

Pretty clear block in the back…. And that’s on the side where the eventual game winning throw went.

It’s rare that those calls are made on O linemen, but they can’t wait to chuck their flag when it’s on special teams. Why? If it’s against the rules, it’s a penalty.

Officiating in the NFL has been questionable since 2012 via the Fail Mary Game between Seattle and Green Bay. It has gotten exponentially worse since then; the 2019 NFC Championship between the Rams and Saints being my personal highlight. No surprise to me the gaffes of NFL Refs this season.

    Officiating has gotten worse.
    I don't want a computer making calls.
What drives me insane is when you see it on instant replay and they still make the same bad call.

Additionally, I think there just a few exceptions of what can be challenged.
Motion on the offense is the most abused call ever and can kill a drive. You should be able to challenge it.

It would be interesting just to watch a game one time where they would switch an officiating crew at halftime. I think it’s evident that some teams get lots of calls and some teams get away with a lot.

I am not a proponent of blaming officiating
for team failures, Players and coaches must
Take responsibility for their preparation and play.

Refs can easily decide a game. There's so many rules that are gray.

The calls that impact the games such as Tds is infuriating. Perhaps the referees need to be paid more ? More quality may come with increased pay? I don't know what they make but proportionately to the players I would assume it's a pittance.
