Could be smokescreen. But I bet they are... I am too, but I don't think he'll get anywhere close to 17.

It wouldn't surprise me if they really like him, but it also wouldn't surprise me if they could sucker someone into taking him early so that someone they want falls to them at 17. I know we are all confused about who we would take, but they may have a direction picked.

They'd be crazy if they're not interested. He's going to be a stud.

Now that I've found some snippets of film that show Ansah dropping into coverage at BYU, I'm starting to warm up to him as a potential OLB. He didn't exactly look good dropping back, but it looks like his quickness is more than just straight line, and he could be taught to drop into coverage well enough to handle it. I still think his best position may be DE in a 4-3, but I see some of the traits that would allow him to transition to OLB in a 3-4. If anyone has more links to film of him dropping into coverage, please post.

The problem here is that everybody else is drooling over him to, and after the combine there may be 32 gm's carrying sponges with them to soak up all the excess saliva

I just listened to the Terrible Podcast...they were talking about some small school guy named Jayson Dimanche. His highlights are impressive. He is an OLB... the guys is pretty quick off the ball.

I keep thinking the same about him...best in a 4-3. I just dont know. While I'm not watching the film/etc that you probably are...from what I have seen he seems more a 4-3. The other side of the coin if they did take him is he probably won't be a plug and play guy...I know I know NO PLAYER starts early on D/etc...but I'm talking more so than usual...it could take him longer to develop. But who knows...

I dont think thats the case. I remember just reading that they were happy with Worilds last year and if they did cut Harrison that Worilds would be the guy to take over for him. Just because they draft someone of the same position doesnt mean a guy is done/a bust...plus Woridls is a FA after 2013...and who knows if they could lock him up/etc. Plus as they always say the Steelers can never have enough good LBs

i think worilds is a good lb, that's why i can't see one drafted early.

we have 2 second rounders here already. carter will be in season 3, and did miss ota's and mini camp during the strike.

the one trick pony showed a little to build on too.

our trouble is woodley. can he play at a high level and stay on the field anymore for a season? plus he's tying up most of the loot at that spot.

year 3 for carter just might suprise some folks. same with worilds. he showed me a little nasty attitude on some plays last year. we need that out of him and timmons.

no i don't see a big need for an early OLB. i'd kind of like a tweener. a guy that could play ILB/OLB. instead of a DE/OLB type.

we need the depth or starter inside. if he can jump outside if needed thats a plus. pass coverage skills helpful. thumper and blitz ability welcome. got any idea's?

Khaseem Greene is a great football player, but he's definitely a 4-3 OLB.

If there's a player that the FO thinks is a difference maker at OLB they should and will pull the trigger, IMO. The pass-rush off-the-edge has been getting worse for 3 straight years.

I don't know I think they wait another year and see how worilds/carter/robison work out.

I think we give worilds a shot at olb. He's shown flashes of what he's capable of and I think if he has a full camp and preseason he will produce. And if he keeps lifting with Harrison his strength has to improve and he's already shown he can play with an edege. All that said I still wish we could keep Harrison and try him at ILB over Foote but the money issues won't allow it, Harrison will probably be on another team next year unfortunately.

When you're Defense depends on off the edge pressure and has been steadily getting worse at it for 3 consecutive years, it's time to upgrade the talent there. The 3 guys you mentioned have done very little. Worilds has trouble staying healthy, Carter all but proved he'll never be better than a back-up and Robinson hasn't been anything but a back-of the-roster player. Why wouldn't you take a difference maker to upgrade the talent pool at one of your most critical positions? The Giants have done it and almost to overkill.

i think it's mostly because it takes our lb'ers so long to get on the field. and if there are starters ahead of them, they get no time. heck, look at timmons. this should be a big jump year for carter and worilds. if robinson shows improvement in his second year then i think they will keep him around. will this rookie be on the field? they have two 2nd rounders set to start. there's talent there but, i'm torn this year on what holes to fill.

Bogus report how can the Steelers be drooling over him he hasn't run a forty yd dash or did any on field drills. I would be worried about him dropping into coverage at 275 lbs.

I would agree, normally.. In today's NFL on defense you need guys that can create long down and distances as well as guys that can take the ball away. It's really that simple, IMO..

watch cornelius washington here too. he doesn't get much love behind all these other georgia players. he looks the part of a mean OLB. he's got a strong long build, but not gangly. plenty of stregnth and size. he hits hard. under the radar guy.

    4.63 40....at 271lbs...Wow.

Reminds me of one of my favorite Steelers of all time: Kirkland.

Then you did only see him a few times because he played interior (NT and DT) on alot of snaps. He simply lined up everywhere on the D-line. Did you ever see Woodley drop into coverage at Michigan? How about Worilds at VT? The answer is no but it didn't mean that they couldn't.. Ansah is a more fluid athlete than both of them.
