I forgot to mention Frazier, who has stepped in and shown great promise from day one. He is the anchor they have needed at center for years.

Wonder why we have slow starts. Play calling was great on the 1st series, when they actually open it up but Fields was off. Then we went back to conservative running style but it was against an 8 man front that completely shut down our running game. The play call in the 1st half when we are loosing 3 to 0 and on Dallas 28 yard line with an 3 and 8 coming up we run our toss sweep to our 3rd string running back just tells you all you need to know why we start slow. The play calling there just sucked and that is why we can't score more then 20 points a game.

Not sure Fields could pass well enough to open it up more and Dallas with their defensive plan of making Fields beat them by throwing showed us that.

That has nothing to do with your inaccurate evaluation of Khan's draft picks. Frazier and Porter alone are proof that you are allowing your relentless focus on the negative to blind you.

What we saw was a team coming to our house well prepared for the game and ready to play. What we had was a home game filled stadium everyone behind you, it doesn’t get any better than that. And from the beginning to the end was a disorganized team, non coaching, complete chaos and unprepared. Why would we have 6 running plays in a row when only one Half decent running back playing and basically getting nowhere. I have notice that we are slowly going back to short passing and trying to run the ball with no front line and no receivers catching the ball. This is absolutely not acceptable as a Steelers fan. Steelers football left in the 70’s- 80’s and never to be seen again.

As others said, starting Russell Wilson does nothing for this Offense. If anything, starting Russell Wilson is no more than an admission by the Steelers that the QB Position is still unsolved at present. Should that happen, 2025 is a year in which the Steelers will have to trade up to get a QB... if that in it of itself was all it took.

As it stands currently, only three QBs are considered First Round worthy. All others are Day 2 to Day 3. Time isn't on the Steelers side.

The coaches don't even fully trust Fields. I think that shows in the game plans. That early run on third down showed us how little they trust him, and this is five games into his fourth season.

I'm not sure it is true that starting Wilson does nothing for the offense. He can read defenses and make throws more consistently than Fields. Maybe it won't matter behind that crappy line with only one viable receiver, but he could very well give the Steelers a better chance to win games this season.

But this team is not even close to a contender so why not give the younger guy an opportunity to grow? I’m not saying he will be the answer but we sure know RW isn’t it long term.

They are 3-2 and tied for first in their division. They are not giving up on the season this early. You know this. Given that truth, they need to play the quarterback who gives them the best opportunity to win now. Fields had five games to win the job. He had some excellent moments, but he didn't do that. Wilson is the starter and it seems he is healthy now.

I don’t believe they will switch to Wilson. I leave the door open a sliver for it being possible because maybe they feel the offense will look more like it did when Rudolph was under center but thats not winning you a SB either.

Only play is to stick with Fields who has improved in every way since taking over and added one more yesterday by playing well in the 4th qtr and leading them to a go ahead score. Something he has never done before then.

Funny, I heard the same thing last year when Tomlin was finally forced to start Mason. "The Steelers were on their way to their first losing season, and starting Mason wasn't going to change a thing"

I say start Russell Wilson and stand back.

My main takeaway`s for why we lost are:

    1. Offense: Failing to score much in the 1st half came back to bite us once again with play calling main culprit IMO. Also, O-line having somewhat bad day pass blocking.

    2. Defense: The defense let us down at crunch time.

Starting Wilson isn’t gonna change anything. Nothing is gonna change until our offensive line starts getting used to playing together and until we get more receivers as a threat.

And our defense has to quit letting teams march up and down the field all day long. How many times did we even keep them out of field goal range last night before we got a turnover. Defense plays smashmouth football one or two plays a game.

Wilson is a top tier qb in the Redzone, he will put it in the Endzone.

I noticed something last night that was rather glaring and I'm sure the smarter guys here have already pointed out: Najee has extremely stiff hips. At one point he was running to the outside and instead of a jump cut or "foot in the ground" change of direction, he had to kind of shuffle his feet to change direction. Completely lost momentum and put himself off balance. He's a bruiser for sure but with no change of pace back, the running game really suffers. Well that and the line being a mess.

Rudolph pulled them to within a TD against a consensus Super Bowl contender, in their house. 90% of the defense was injured (including Watt) and they allowed the Bills to march down the field to end the comeback. This year, Rudolph led the Titans to their first 30-point game in years in his first significant action. Not by throwing, but the team and their fans say he sparked them. Not too bad IMO.

Prior to that, people were questioning Pickens, the O-line, everything (sounds like right now). Everyone and every part of the team looked better when he came in.

LOL. He didn't do anything, but the fans think he helped. He impressed the head coach so much that the guy couldn't say fast enough that Levis was still the starter once he is healthy.

After the team fell into a big hole. And the point was, they lost against the first good opponent they faced.

You aren’t going to get very far with Rudolph level of QB play and I believe that is about all Wilson will provide at this point of his career.

We shall see how they compare in Tennessee as the year goes on. It's like Tomlin listing Pickett at QB1 when we were rolling with Mason. They have to massage egos......
