Have you watched him play the last 2 years? The guy is absolutely awful. He has no explosiveness whatsoever. He's painfully slow. He's ten times the plodder that Redman is.

No thanks, the guy is beyond washed up. There's a reason Atlanta is getting rid of him.

Bettis was 24 when the Steelers got him, Turner is 30. That's a world of difference. He's not the next Bettis, but Turner could be a serviceable back for a yr or two. Just don't pay too much for him.

He's nothing more than a 'big back' these days. He no longer has the ability to beat off defenders.

With a name like Dick Skinner you don't think he can beat off defenders? Ha-ha
No way I could let that one pass. I'll smack my own dick skinners for typing it

Yeah! I guess that means we'll have to stop complaining about them though, huh? Oh well. Maybe it will be nice to just click on the threads that I have interest in reading, and if I click on one that it turns out I don't like, I guess I can just hit the back button, and if I feel it is literally so irrelevant to the point that it should not be on the website at all, I'll just trust in our first class mods to take care of that issue instead of trying to run the place myself like some D- superhero whose only power is annoyance, or if I'm feeling impatient, shoot them a PM. I'll miss *****ing all the time for no reason and nothing to gain, but I guess it's worth a shot.

Michael Turner is not the type of back we need. Neither is Stephen Jackson, bigsteelerfaninky.

I know, I know. We always criticize the guy who writes "sign ...."! But I was thinking the same thing. We could sign, for the right price, Michael Turner or Steven Jackson for a year, and use them while we get other positions back to shape. They are old for running backs, but they both have a year or two left in them, and they could really help our RB situation when Rashad Mendenhall leaves.

Turner might be 30 but, in playing years, he's only 25 since the Chargers never really used him!;)

Michael Turner was done 2 years ago. He does not have a year or two left in him. He might be the slowest RB in the league at this point. No explosiveness either. With our line where blocks aren't held long, he'd get about 1 ypc.

I agree. The difference between Turner and Jackson is that Jackson still has enough spring in his step to be a productive feature back.
