Make too much sense. Plus the keys. Right now the D will key on Najee more than Patterson. People can believe what they want. They have hours , and hours of game tape with Najee as a Steeler....they have very little tape of Patterson playing with the Steelers. All a person being truthful to themselves has to see is the plays were Najee is being tackled in the backfield as He gets the ball......As He Gets the Ball..... if that, and how the D is lined up doesn't show that.....well:shrug:

Anybody they get for the OL right now is likely for depth, they will probably continue to add OL guys to the practice squad.

I saw a post-game locker room interview from the Colts game.

I didn’t catch the whole clip, but it seems like the reporter asked about Fields performance in the 2nd half. I didn’t care for Najee’s response.

I have always been high on Najee’s character, but feel he might be a little upset with everything going on and that seems to come out in various settings.

There is a reason the team did not want to guarantee him two years of salary

I still say Najee goes for over a 1,000 yards and goes from being the only back in the NFL to rush for over a 1,000 yards in each of the previous 3 years, to being the only back in the NFL to rush for over a 1,000 yards in each of the last 4 years. :)

The OL better start opening some holes for him if he's going to rush for 1,000 yards.

Hope and a prayer that CJ Henderson is the one. I severely doubt it but if there was one thing that Henderson was known for at Florida was his ability to play press at a very high level. I doubt that level of coverage capability has gone away.

If anything, he has been elevated from the Practice Squad if I recall. Should he get an opportunity, I wonder how much of it can he make of it.

Well going for a 1000 yards in a 17 game season equates to about 59 yards a game. I'd hope he would be able to reach that getting about 15 to 20 carries a game but he got 19 yards on 13 carries vs the Colts. You can't just keep running up your OLineman's backs because the hole isn't there...hence needing to have the vision and ability to cut back. His lack of vision is evident when you see Jaylen Warren or Patterson run.

You do understand that Najee and only Najee was able to go over 1,000 yards in the each of the last 3 years. If it is so easy why can't anyone else in the entire NFL do it???

Don't you just hate Stats. :). Everyone keeps claiming how easy it is for a RB to go over 1,000 yards, but when you look at the STATS, you realize that it ain't that easy.

This is exactly like the .....never having a losing season .....it's sooooooo easy......yet why do coaches keep getting fired for not doing it????
Again if people can't see what Defenses are keying on.....like when the RB is met by two Defenders as He's getting the ball more than 3 times in a game.......

A little closer look at the stats answers your question on why no one else has done it. Injuries.

Look at some of the big names at RB during that same stretch, those including Chubb, Mccaffrey, Henry, Barkley, etc. They all had shortened seasons at one point or another because of injury.

Najee has been able to avoid any major injuries, which has allowed him to play full seasons. That is why he is the only one to have done it. I don’t think that stat validates the caliber of RB he is or isn’t.

I only saw a clip of the answer to a question, but essentially the reporter asked about Fields 2nd half success against the colts.

Najee went on to say something like “quit making it about one player, you all act like Justin is the only one throwing the ball, catching it, and running with it.” He went on to say it’s about all the players hard work in the 2nd half.

What he said, and the way he said it, felt a little funny to me. I don’t know why he couldn’t just say what a great 2nd half Fields had.

I will tell You why, and it's the same problem we've had since Ben retired, and all teams that don't have forsure that guy have.....no matter what the players say publicly.....there are players on the team that think other Qbs on the team maybe better. Unlike us they see what's happening in practice, and what has happened in all the practices. Until one Qb has made himself the forsure the guy.....we like other teams will have this problem. Some will want one guy, some will want a different. Plus I bet everyone on the team is tired of answering the Fields questions. Doesn't mean they don't like Him....it just means they are probably tired of answering those same Questions every day. Hell listen to the media.....it's like We aren't the Steelers anymore......we are the .... is Fields the Starter.....is Fields going to be resigned.....what will it take to make Fields the man.....Fields.....Fields....Fields. They don't even talk about the Steelers anymore.....unless we lose....otherwise Fields is all they talk about.

It was six carries and he's 33. Patterson is not a feature back. There is a reason why he has never had even 700 yards rushing in a season.

Yes, the pursuit of the perfect over the good and it likely leaves them with yet another gaping hole to fill in the offseason. Some folks think they should just lock up Warren and make him the feature back. How is that working out so far this season. A smaller back who runs with a physical style like his can have a harder time staying healthy, which we are seeing this season.

All these excuses made for Harris’ average play to avoid admitting he just isn’t very good.

Steelers ultimately agreed and chose not to pick up a very affordable option.

He has no burst and poor vision.

He is durable about the best quality he has. Middle of the road starting back not what you want from a first rd pick

He is a middle-of-the-road RB who has also been an advocate for increasing RB salaries. I imagine those beliefs probably come up in contract conversations with the Steelers.

I am fine with keeping Najee long-term, but the contract needs to be reflective of his play and potential.

Given that the last time he tried it, he ended up with his arm in a sling the next day and played arguably his worst game as a Steeler the next Sunday, perhaps he would be better keeping his feet near the ground.

Sarcasm doesn't come across well online. You could have simply pointed out you were being sarcastic. The personal dig was not necessary.
