I think he meant that the team would have to turn to the guy they drafted this year as a starter now.

 

Agreed, but the time it takes players to develop isn't the only reason some of the criticism of Meyer is unfair. The Steelers have been constantly shuffling players on the line. The strength of the line was supposed to be the guards. They had a strong pair of starters in Seumalu and Daniels, and quality depth led by Nate Herbig. Seumalu hasn't played yet this season. Herbig's season ended in training camp. Now Daniels is done. Whether it be mental or injury-related, Jones lost his job and only got it back because Fautanu is out for the season. The only constants have been Moore and Frazier, a rookie. They are dealing with huge drain of talent with an inexperienced makeshift unit. Of course they aren't performing up to expectations. Those expectations were built on having four very good players who are all out and only one of them is going to return this season.

 

Those aren't terrible, at least for depth, though I imagine we will see Seumalu and McCormick starting the rest of they way if they are healthy.

 

Major loss. Played his last down as a Steeler.
