I don't think there is any chance we are going to sign Wallace and this pretty much confirms he won't be back, if it's not the Dolphins, someone else will be willing to pay him way more then we will. I personally hope he goes to Miami and not to someone in our division. I soured on him as much as anyone else but it doesn't mean he isn't still a serious threat to a defense. We are definitely suited to deal with him though, as we our the best in the league at not giving up big plays, still rather him be out of the division, it would just kill me to see him burn us for a TD :lolol:

We didn't need this to confirm Wallace wouldn't be back.

I hope Wallace cashes in big time, because his contract will factor into the comp pick we get in return.

I also wouldn't mind seeing him take his talents to south beach to quote another diva. I also like what SBD said about hoping he cashes in.

And I said I don't think there is any chance we do but until now I hadn't seen any team surface as a landing spot beyond this own boards assumptions that it may be Cleveland or Cincy.

Exactly, he didn't have a season that would impress anyone so who knew if anyone would shell out a ton of money for him.

I really figured he would land in where ever BA did but I guess AZ can only afford to pay one guy Fitz money. I figured BA would to go SD and Wallace would go there too because they need a deep threat. But really what does it say about Wallace if even the BROWNS won't take him and they've got tons of money to throw around? Maybe the Browns are gonna look at Welker instead?

I could think of a few other words to describe it besides impressive.

Ridiculous, foolish, undeserved, acenine, unjustified, crazy, pathetic, perplexing, incredible, absurd, goofy, harebrained, laughable, ludicrous, nonsensical, outrageous, nutty, silly, proeposterous, wacky, unbelievable...

    ...just to name a few.

i think the thing that may help him is there are teams that need to spend alot of money to get to the 85% of the cap compliance for this coming year. someone will spend. some have to spend.

i think cinci will have to mind it's cap because in the next couple of years they will have to give green and dalton pretty large contracts to keep them. cleve also has alot of first rounders on that team and will have to sign guys like thomas again. most likely big 2nd contracts. balt. could see that this year.

Jerry Jones-esque, Dan Snyder-esque, idiotic-esque, stupid-esque, moronic-esque, Washington DC-esque. Hey that Washington one REALLY works because NO ONE knows how to waste money like them! LOL!

Interesting cap analysis on Mike Wallace. It looks like the Steelers were right on the money or even generous with their offer last year. Glad the Steelers are a fiscally sound organization and are not willing to over-pay for a diva. In summary, buyer beware.

If you are a team that is going to go beyond $10 million a season (for Mike Wallace) just remember there is a clear “buyer beware” sign when you make that move.

That's a great point, Mac. It was announced yesterday that all NFL teams must average 95% of Cap in cash spending from 2013-2017 as a whole, and each team must spend 89% of Cap in cash. That's going to have a big impact on these types of contracts.

Yeah, I liked these quotes from the Sun-Sentinel article:

"But you don't go shopping in Beverly Hills and then complain how expensive everything is."

"Dolphins fans better hope that if Miami does end up going the Wallace route he'll perform like an exotic ride because there is no lemon law protection when it comes to top shelf free agency."

I've been saying that Miami will be his landing spot. Wallace spends alot of time there, he's a heat fan and everything else. They have cap space, and they have a rookie QB who has potential. I dont think he would ever want to go to the browns, and cincy has AJ Green which the spotlight would be on Green, and Wallace wants the ball alot and that tandem, which could be deadly, wont work out because of Wallace's attitude. He'll be in Miami, and we will only have to see him once every few years!

i sayd that i month ago , the steelers will not even make an offer to wallace ,btw would be losing time since should be half of what they offered and already refused
they signed brown when wallace was holding out and that's where the wallace money went

I wish Pittsburgh would be a top place for Jennings to land. Of all the free agents I'd take him over all of them. He catches what he's thrown. He runs good routes. He's smart ON the field. He's smart OFF the field. If I were a betting man I'd actually say that if him and Wallace both go to the fins that Jennings will have a better year for them. He's got more than one trick and that's the kind of guy I'd rather have.
