I don't think that's going to be a problem. He's not going to get top dollar, and I don't think he would expect it. But after three years in Chicago, Pittsburgh has to seem like heaven.

True, I definitely like what he has been bringing to the team.

It's beginning to look that way. Let's just hope that Fields can keep it up

A potential Franchise QB in trade for a pack of chewing gum?!

I will happily take that trade every time plus twice on Sundays!!

Keyword is potential here. Justin still has to make it all work. Health is also a factor as well.

I agree and think this plays to our favor. I am not sure one year of good, but not great play, will be enough to command a mega contract.

Bring him along slowly and see how he can develop in the system.

In an era where Trevor Lawrence got a $275 million deal and Jordan Love is the #3 paid QB in the league after only one really good season, Fields can put himself in the $50 million+ per year territory if he keeps improving and we keep winning. Teams who need QBs will open up their wallets and show him the green love, the Steelers included.

I suspect we will see the first $60-$65 Million a Year QB very soon. How soon?! I'd wager within the next one to two seasons. Now who specifically?!

    Ya got me there! :lolol:

Or it means Wilson is still hurt, in which case Fields could suck and still start.

If he keeps improving I have no problem with the 4th round pick. Plus it is pissing the browns fan off tremendously. I think he will sign with the Steelers as well, he has had his share of losing.

I was thinking about that earlier today, to have picked up his 5th year option was a no brainer when they got him, now looks like it would have been a good move, lol. It's really to early to tell what he will ask, but I hope there can be a constructive offer from both sides, look at what Tua, Lawrence, and even Love got (after on a half season of being very good). Fields is not there yet, but the asking price (and payment) has been given to a lot of these guys who have proven nothing. If we decide to go with him, he is going to get paid, simple as that, but to go all in with a small sampling is very iffy indeed.

And we will continue to see most of those teams struggle because the QB will eat up 35% of the salary cap and 52 other players fight for the rest.

Let’s not forget, Denver is paying Russel Wilson 38.2 million dollars to hold our clipboard. If he were to be called upon it would be great to see him play like Andy Dalton did for Carolina on Sunday. Old John Elway would probably put his head thru a wall.

Especially considering how many of these guys stink after making big money, this market has got to reset at some point. I'm doubtful it will anytime soon, but just saying.

Daniel Jones is about done in NY, I don't think Dak is worth his contract, and then there's a Jordan Love (who is relatively still unproven).

4th round is a easy doable draft pick if He proceeds to keep progressing as he has done.
