Rudolph was never going to be the heir to Ben. Whichever knuckleheads in the FO believed that are hopefully long gone. As I've said before, the Steelers have not been good at drafting, acquiring, or developing QB talent with the exception of Ben. Pouncey confirms what we all saw with our own eyes.

I was over my Bengals neighbors house on Sunday watching Frazier bulldoze two rushers and told everybody the Steelers always seem to hit on very good to great centers. Started naming off all of them over the years. Didn’t mention Greene. Wish it were that way for QB’s.

Might wanna inquire to Green Bay on how to pick em!! They have had a rock solid track record of doing so.

Their coaching staff has done the impossible, making a winning QB out of Malik Willis.

    Agreed.

It also doesn't help that the merry go round of Offensive Coordinators has been equally disappointing. Hopefully Khan and the new brain trust can correct these errors as you stated. First things first though; let's see what Justin Fields can do.

Thing is, Malik's talents were never to be questioned. His lack of polish and consistency left a lot to be desired. Matt LeFleur has recognized both and has correctly built a game plan around him.

Much like Fields, the Packers are developing Willis by teaching him the principles of the position while maximizing his strengths.

    More optimistic on my end.

So far so good though! Let's see how much he can grow as the season progresses.

Green Bay and Pittsburgh have been very similar type teams for decades. Perhaps they learned from the Steelers. Ray Mansfield, Mike Webster, Dermonti Dawson, Jeff Hastings, Maurice Pouncy. It hardly gets much better than that.

ummm - there are very few great QBs

    they develop

many are good, very few great

and we have had ~ 33 years of 50 of greatness, w Terry and Ben

    most organizations cannot say that

Wait, what? I thought we were talking about Centers. At least I was. Maybe I hijacked the thread?

Hartings was also a guard with the Lions, that the Steelers thought would be a great center.
