Being a University of Cincinnati alum, I was really sad to hear that their DE, Walter Stewart's career was over earlier this year. However, he's recently been cleared to perform at the combine, and will be checked out my the NFL medical staffs there. Here's a story in him if you want more...

I have no idea if he'll be cleared, but if he is, he's someone we should think about. When he was at UC he would cover a slot WR, rush off the edge, and line up over the center all in 1 defensive series.

I have no idea what his draft range will be, but if he checks out medically I'd love to see us grab him to play OLB. Like I said I went to UC so I'm probably biased, but I've watched a lot of him and am curious if anyone else has, and what the thoughts are.

I had no idea that he had been cleared by any doctors to play football again. As a UCONN alum, yes I have seen Stewart, and yes he's a good player. Of course my opinion could be partly formed by a play against UCONN - I believe in 2011 - that's probably on youtube where he grabbed the ball out of QB Johnny McEntee's hand in the end zone for a strip sack/TD. Definitely a highlight play and a half. If I recall, he was really on fire early in 2012 before his injury. It's tough to put a grade on him with the medical condition, but without it I would think of him as a solid 3rd - 4th rounder.

I'm not familiar with him, but here's that play you mentioned.

He'll probably be available as a free agent due to the medical red flag

After doing some more research, it looks like his ceiling is probably the 5th round (obviously we have no idea, but that's what some in the know are thinking).

I would nab him in the 6th or 7th... Very few guys make the team in those rounds anyway, so he could really be a steal if he's all ready to go.
