Nice article but that's what i hate about looking too hard at stats. To me it painted Worilds in a bad light. There were some positives but I felt much better about Worilds before I read the article. :-(

Worilds will be a better OLB in 2013 than Harrison. This is not meant to suggest Worilds is ready for the Pro Bowl, just that Harrison is done.

he'll have to or why have him. he and woodley should make us the team with the slowest OLB'ers in the league. thats if woodley plays much.

i did notice at the end of last year, they had woodley in coverage more and more instead of rushing the passer. i wondered then if it wasen't a debut for this year and the move to harrisons spot. worilds played much better from woodley's spot last year.

did you notice the LT rankings for last year on that page jack?

i think if harrison's knee is better, that we are handing out a stud player to some other team and still paying for it.

One of my biggest concerns about losing James is this team has lost a lot of its intimidation and swagger the last few years on defense. Who is ready to take on that roll? While he may not be the player he once was(I think he has something left) what price do you put on his fear-factor?

I COULD NOT DISAGREE ANYMORE!!!! James is Definitely on the back side of his career. But, He played on a Bum knee for 1/2 the season. James is still a beast and played alot better in the last couple games. If that knee is healed up to start 2013 there is no comparison between the two....Hell going by last years play you would be better off starting Worilds opposite Deebo for Woodley!

He made the leap the first time he took the field. Anyone can see he is better. I would like to Keep Harrison if he takes a pay cut. If not, we all know the drill. James will be a Pat next year. He will either be a Vrable or a Chad Johnson. AKA either great for a few years or play parts of next year and get cut.

my trouble is woodley making 9 mil. this year. he's never taken over as a player the last two seasons. why not a pay cut from him? why is he not in the talk of getting the axe? JH wasen't a starter until 2007. he doesn't have alot of wear and tear on that in shape body. he works on his. alot. why not troy? where is the call for his pay cut? i'd keep them and ask for a 2 mil. across the board paycut from all of them. that's 6 mil. restructure, timmons, ben, heath and AB. cut keisel down to 1.5 and clark down to 2 mil. cut ike down by 2mil. they need to give some for the team if they want to remain. they are still making tons of money.

Try not to forget that Worilds missed one TC due to lockout and another to injury.

Assuming Woodley can work himself into shape and play injury free, I expect him to be a rock for several years to come. With that being the case, he may restructure again. Because the Steelers have restructured him once already I don't see them parting ways as some have suggested. However, I don't see him taking a pay cut mid contract. But as I said, should be lose some weight and play healthy, he could be a viable restructure since he potentially has the years to go in his career to do so.

Harrison on the other hand, I doubt very much he will take a pay cut mid contract, and I also doubt the Steelers have any interest in restructuring. To add another year or so, only compounds the cap issues this team has.

woodley needs to get to work then. if you're going to be the man then you should work on your body like the man. i give ziggy credit , he transformed his to get better. his season showed it. woodley needs to do the same. i don't think it would be hard to replace him right now with worilds. we need the replacement for harrison though. i don't think worilds will show near as well at that spot. we have seen alot of good money after bad around here, so i hope your right and woodley picks it up. because i think we have another option if not.

They just need to make it until 2014 when the TV contracts kick in, apparently that is going to open things up but I don't have any details on it.

I've read just the opposite of this. That there won't be a huge jump or increase when that happens. I don't know what to believe. It'd be nice if they just bump it up a little to say 130 mil or something even...but who knows...

Anyways I think Worilds could step in...will he be as good as JH...no...probably not. Would it benefit him if he was on Woodleys side...at this point it seems like it. But would they be willing to make the switch? How would it impact Woodley?

Whil I think you're right, that Harrison could really contribute this year... It's not worth paying 6 million to find out.

Worilds should be ready, and I think we live or die by him this season. We're in a rebuilding period anyway, so lets see what hes got. I'm sure a lot of people would be surprised to hear that Worilds was 2nd on the team in sacks this season with 5, which is pretty impressive given his limited playing time.

I read somewhere (maybe Steelers Depot) that the 2014 cap is only expected to go up another 1 million dollars. If that holds true than it will be at least 2015(maybe 16) before we get out of salary cap hell.

Yea there's going to be big changes because of it. I look for Clark and or Troy to be gone next year, maybe Ike as well. I think thats why we need to get Lewis signed, because Cortez Allen showed potential to be the #2 guy and Lewis will be #1 after Ike leaves.

Worilds is a left olb. Th ey rush most of the time. The tough spot is the right OLB.. t hey nned to be able to rush the passer ans drop in coverage and play the run.

    Harrison can do that.

Harrison struggled a little in pass coverage this past season. According to the article pass coverage is of of Worild's strong suits.

Steelers need to find out what they have in Worlids, and Heyward for that matter. I think they need to give both of them the starting job and see how they do. It is going to be a few years before we are competing for another Lombardi anyways....

So let me get this straight. Some of you want to cut the only guy on the defense that shows some leadership bc hes getting older? Good grief the guy was hurt last year and you think hes done? The biggest problem the Steelers had this year was an offense that couldnt score points. Even when the defense caused turnovers, then couldnt score. The browns were not a bad team (dang it hurts to say that), with 8 turnovers, they shouldve blown us out and they didnt.

If any of the LBs need to go, its Woodley. I dont care if he is younger, he simply is not performing. I thought I read somewhere that he was hitting the cap for like $14 mil??
