Jordan Love may be out for an extended period after tonight’s game. I wonder if the Packs will call us if he is.

I remember watching Bradshaw do that on his butt in the slush at an AFCCG vs Houston and he got a first down

    And a really cold butt

True but based on what I see Fields can't see the field to read defenses while being decisive with timed passes to receivers.

When he doesn't get his read he simply runs.

Not a bad thing if you are a rookie but I start to doubt them in their 5th year with the same problems.

We will see there are no other options so we will get to evaluate probably both options pretty thoroughly.

And as I've said before,I challenge both of them to prove me wrong would love to see it.

For that to work though are offensive line has to be much better than they were in the Preseason and our run game has to be productive.

Big opportunity for Fields if this is the case

Why would they do that? You think having an injured QB, a BU who has a career turnover problem is something that is trade potential? We have 17 games to play, while I don't think either guy is our future, we still have to get through this year.

The running back will be better with Fields since when you have a fast QB,the RBs have always more space to run in the middle,so I expect the running game to be solid with Fields, unless our o-line is a complete dumpster fire.....

The issue is if we get behind the chains because he is taking sacks then it makes our run game of ill effect. The best thing they can do with him is get him on designed roll outs early with some easy completions to build some continuity. At the end of the day this game really is going to come down to the offensive line and the run game. I believe Fields can be more than serviceable if our offensive line and run game play well. If they don’t and we have to rely on him or Wilson then i don’t see this being a very good offense.

I just don’t confidence in our offensive line until they prove otherwise. Right now Broderick Jones has me the most concerned then Spencer then Moore third. I honestly would have preferred the rookie McCormick in their instead of Sponsor for the run game but I get it they want the more experience Ol in there which makes sense with the rookie C starting his first game.

That's what I'm worried about, but on paper, they should be better than the last few years once everyone is healthy

But But we don’t give our back up quarterbacks a fair chance

If Fields doesn’t play well I can already hear the excuses

Hope Fields balls out tomorrow. Make it too difficult to go back to Wilson. Not like he is an entrenched starter.

Hell, he did it to Pickett last year. Stay with the hot hand.

This is what you get when you have a tight wallet. Some one that is in the downhill of his career.

In all reality, if Russ (even in a diminished state) could give us 26 TD's with 8 ints. Compared to the last couple of years we would be happy, not ecstatic, but at least fell we had some stability. The other stats kinda suck, sacks, yardage per play, blah blah, if Fields can (big if) can grow, cut the fumbles, the development around this O could at least be competitive. I.m not expecting much, but damn it's time for Steeler FB, let's go, lol.

The ceilling of the steelers is higher with Fields but the floor is also lower with him.But I prefer to see what Fields can offer to us!

Tight wallet doesn't hold, you have a required amount that has to be spent every year by the CBA. At times when signed we have had several who were top pay of their positions. To sign Russ at basically minimum (when someone else was picking up the salary) is something that was done simply because the QB room sucked. The team will have to pay market rates for a QB at some point, but of those available this past offseason, this was the route to go.
