he cleared waivers unclaimed. Wonder where he will land. Something tells me somewhere in our division for some reason.

Hopefully he lands on his back under James Harrison for how stupid he made us look for picking him.

Vick Ballard, Alfred Morris..picked after Rainey..even the 2 standout kickers for the Rams/Vikings would have been nice!

Sometimes you have to take a chance on talent, especially with those later picks. Rainey didn't pan out for us, which had a lot more to do with his off-field issues than his on-field potential. I don't consider it a bad pick because he just as easily could've panned out for us.

I agree...too easy to be a wishy-washy fan on these kind of picks. If he was returning kicks for touchdowns he would be a god around here. Didn't pan out...move on!

I meant that it was a waste of a pick because his off field troubles kept us from ever seeing his true potential, 1 season and he's gone, that's a waste to me. I don't blame the Steelers for selecting him because what you said is true.

I do agree GB. But as the season goes on or even years. You look back and just imagine the what if's..sometime like with players like Walsh or Morris.

I hope he lands on his feet. I hope he pulls his life together and becomes a better person because of this. If he did what he was accussed of he's going to need to seek some help so this doesn't happen again.

You know, what Rainey did was absolutely idiotic and there have been varying accounts as to exactly what happened. Apparently this woman had his cell phone and Rainey chased her down to get it back and probably grabbed her and forcefully took the phone out of her hand. Sounds like the woman was probably equally idiotic. It's never okay for a man to rough up a woman in any way, but the lesson is STAY AWAY FROM STUPID WOMEN!!! Especially if you've done some stupid things yourself in the past that involve women. I'm telling you guys, Manti T'eo as the number one pick and his imaginary girlfriend are looking better all the time!

I agree with both of you.

Rainey looked like a steal in preseason. He was explosive in the return game.

It's easy to blast the draft with hindsight. I'm not forgetting how excited everyone was around here before the season started. A few things don't quite pan out the way they might, and suddenly it's the worst draft ever.

I kind of liked the pick when it happened. Now I couldn't be happier he is gone. We don't need that kind of stuff on our team.

You really want to get rid of Pouncy? He had a lot of persuasion on behalf of Rainey becoming a Steeler.

That's why they shouldn't listen to players when it comes to personel decisions. Maybe a well respected vetren who's been around for a while, but Pouncey?

rainey wasen't a wasted pick until the dismissal. he did some good thing for us, he was only a rookie and one of the few that see the field that soon. it became a waste when he got arrested. that was on him not our drafting of him.
