Unless Roman Wilson is the new Hines Ward 2024-25 may be another "Meh" season

This goes completely against my hopelessly optimistic druthers but I get the uncomfortable feeling the Steelers are looking at another Tomlinesque Lets-avoid-anoither-losing-season let down, I hate this. The neck and neck November election aside i'd love the Steelers winniing 1 or 2 or several post season games - dare I say the 7th Lombardi?

A San Francisco thug pistol whipped 49er rookie Rickey Pearsall so blame him for the Steelers not getting Uiyuk. I'm deep into the Indian Summer of my personal senility and lack the time cushion I hope you all enjoy. Trouble is I'm also a hopeless reality junkie and Roman Wilson has his own trouria without worrying about me. Or, for that matter, all of yours. No matter. Atlanta lies dead ahead followed by Danver. I don't own a share of Rooney Preferred and sa I don't use the term "We" for the Steelers I just show up here for much the same reasons as you. Roman Wilson probably is a great guy. Let's hope his U. of Michigan dumb luck holds

Good point but I think I'm ready for a few new outrages. A few years ago the other major Steeler site banned me forever for stuff like hurting Tomlun's tender fee fees and likely theirs tolo. Wife of 46 years Is Black and so are my kids but somehow that's [GASP] RACIST lol Expect in my case "LIFE IS TOO SHORT." War and the NFL are violent. Message boards aren't but thanks again

i think wilson will become quite good for us. i don't think we will know for awhile about the receivers turning into hines ward yet until they get the QB spot set. next year may find 3 different guys throwing him the ball. that will decide a lot for our receivers growth.

 

Hines Ward didn't produce much until his 3rd year in 2000.

 

Agreed....he was mainly a return guy before all that.....and people forget.....they drafted 3 times in the 1st round trying to replace Him, or if not replace him .....find something better to put beside him.

 

Yep. Troy Edwards in '99 and Plaxico in '00.... both 1st rounders while Ward was a 3rd rounder in '98. No wonder he always had a chip on his shoulder.

 

I think this is going to go a lot like the Titans with Derrick Henry ... lean on the run game and use play action ...

Problem is it only takes you so far in today's NFL. Another receiver would be nice.
