New year and OC, Same old Offense.

KC had o line issues and Reid solved in one off season. Steeler shave a horrible o line 4 years ago and its the same old crap. Cant run ball until week 6 of season and QB get beat up and hurt running for their life. Tomlin sucks at offense.

 

Should have fired Tomlin and hired the Lions OC as HC.

 

Tomlin should have exited when Ben did.

Rooney did not get the memo

 

I really thought Tomlin would move on after Ben retired, but much to my chagrin he didn't. In fact, it now seems like Tomlin has a lifetime contract with Rooney. I was hoping Tomlin would see the wisdom of moving on when Ben retired, but apparently he didn't. Tomlin and Rooney are a match made in mediocre hell for a lot of us Steelers fans. The minority owners have been lobbying for Tomlin to go for years, but Art will have none of that

 

Well, Tomlin's way seems to be a little slower than Reid's

 

I've wanted Tomlin gone since after AFC Championship game vs. Patriots in '16. Got put on lots of ignore lists back then.

It was clear the Steelers were never going to compete with Patriots even with a HOF QB, All Pro RB, All Pro WR and above average OL.

 

It's been all downhill since then, even though Jesse James got "robbed"

 

I said same thing Tomlin was de pantsed that game and should have been fired. It was his Grady manager moment the red sox had against the yanks. He showed he was light years from elite anymore

Tomlin is wasting TJ Watt's career. The only way Rooney will get the message if it starts to hurt the bottom line and partners want accountability. I have become ambivalent towards the Steelers after being a die hard fan. I lived in Michigan for 27 years and was never a Lions fan, but watch them now and will watch Titans if Rudolph starts. I like to enjoy football and watching the Idiot and his circus isn't fun anymore.

 

It's obvious the Steelers are not going to be competitive this year. We haven't won a single preseason game. Only one thing left to do!!!

 

I hear you. Watching the Steelers has been a slog for a while now. I remember in '19, it took eveything I had to get through every game. And it hasn't gotten any better. I watch replays of the games on NFL+, and most games I'm fast forwarding through the second half. It's just brutal. Even when they win it's brutal.

I don't hate Tomlin or anything, but when they extended him 3 years, my already waining enthusiasm died a bit more.

This WAS THE TIME for a shakeup, for better or worse. The PRODUCT can't get much worse. Sure, they could lose more games, but the entertainment value couldn't get much worse.

Kind of same for me. I've become ambivalent towards them too. A lot calmer then in the past. I think growing old plays a big part but the $$$ they are getting and the sh!t they do drives me away. Frigging Brown and Bell changed me.

I'd follow and root for Titans with Mason under center with the obvious exception. Did you root for the Lions to make SB or were you against? Not sure how far from Detroit you are but last NFL season had to DOMINATE the city.

 

I lived in Detroit for two years and near Grand Rapids for 25. Now I am retired near Sarasota in Florida. I felt the excitement from my former co-workers about the Lions whenever I spoke to them.

And last year we had the highest rated Preseason NFL QB of all time. Every time the 1st team offense touched the ball in preseason we scored a TD!!!

It's just something to get worked up about I guess. Some people have to find something to complain about, no matter how meaningless.

Besides, we apparently have a fanbase that is all of the sudden apathetic towards the team now that we are a couple years into simply being "above average" after being elite for 15+ years. Apparently 9 and 10 win seasons are hard on the soul lmao
