    1. Nick Herbig is gonna have a big yr in the rotation

    2. Hate to see Nate Herbig go down, but Zach Frazier was gonna be the starter anyway

    3. I'm worried about Broderick Jones.... something isn't right and team doctors are missing it

    4. Justin Fields shows just enough dynamic to keep you hoping and hanging on

    5. My hopeful eye says that our preseason offense is not our regular season offense

    6. Dez Fitzpatrick looks like the 5th wr

    7. Special teams coverage units aren't looking so special

    8. Intermediate defense has me a little worried

    9. Fortunately Jaylen Warren should be back for the start of the season

    10. Preseason or not.... Detroit will be a major test next wk

    Thanks again blackandgoldpatrol

To me Fields is still a gimmick and needs more polish. When he runs he holds the ball out down to his side. And doesn't switch hands. This will result in fumbles.

Wilson needs to take snaps against the Lions next week. No excuses. The O Line gave him no time against their 1st team defense.

Jones needs to be on the left side. But if he is injured they need to take care of it now. Bad day at the office.

I'm worried about Atlanta. They have bolstered their defense and if Cousins gets hot it could be a long day.

DL is beating OL in all the preseason games. I'm not that worried about it until we get into week4 of the regular season.

    agree

    Agree

Broderick skipped post game media session to meet with doctor. However, what we’ve seen from him this year is the same crap we saw from him in the last few dames of 23.

I’m not particularly high or low on fields. His issues won’t be fixed in one training camp.

Teams don’t game plan for preseason games. They’re just getting a live view of players etc.

Hoping a significant piece to wr corps will be added soon

special teams was better this week, but still work to be done.

not worried about the defense at all

    hopefully it’s minor

Don’t think we will see many starters in third preseason game

We have no chance if our o-line is garbage this year...It can't happen...Already Wilson and Fields hold the ball long which results in sacks at times, if our o-line is also garbage with that, it's going to be tough to watch, like 70 sacks allowed combined is possible and yes our o-line coach is complete trash

Not sure but I think the Lions won't play starters. Not sure what Mr. Tomlin is going to do. IMO let Russell play entire first half.

    11. Our run defense sucks!

    12. If another reporter writes we are trying for a super bowl run they need to resign for malpractice!!

    1. Love Nick!
    2) Yes, Zach is the guy (rumor is they may sign Cole as emergency back up - "wouldn't be prudent, Just Say No" - to quote George Bush....)
    3) worried, too - as of now - for sure
    4) Fields has some upside. might be a better option with a SIEVE OLINE - Tomlin has his hands full. Will be some UGLY OFFENSE for a while.
    5) hope so too!
    6) maybe, on DEZ
    7) ST coverage poor - PUNTER is AMAZING however!!!
    8) yes, on intermediate, but starters should crush
    9) Hope Warren is fine w some R & R
    10) could not care less about DET next week

I hope Tomlin will not put him only at the nose tackle position

I'm not sure Fitzpatrick beats out Scottie Miller for that 5th WR spot.
I will worry about the run defense when the starters get gashed.
Jones play is concerning he's a liability out there.

Steelers did not run A. Smith's offense in the first half. In fact, it sure looked like last year's offense. How? They were in 11 personnel for a vast number of plays. That IS NOT A. Smith's offense. (I think they are trying to figure out the WR room and needed to get enough looks at everyone.) He loves 12 and 13 personnel, along with some 21 personnel (which they did run some).

Agree. Wilson and Fields each for a half. They both need game reps( no matter who's playing on the Lions' defense) to see if one of them can separate themself from the other.imho

    1. I love Nick Herbig. I don’t now you scheme him as a third edge without telegraphing that your blitzing. I hope they can be creative.
    2. I agree. He seems like a likable player. I hope he recovers soon.
    3. I am not so sure it is more of a development issue.
    4. Can’t evaluate any of our QB’s behind the poor line play. But at the very least they need to have some creative packages for him.
    5. We can all agree with that.
    6. I agree over Watkins.
    7. I agree.
    8. Not me. Once they get all of the starters on the field I think you are really going to see Queen, Elliot, Minkah and Wilson shine in that area along with Beani Bishop.
    9. I hope so.
    10. I don’t think they will play any starters.

Our run defense is always gong to stink under Tomlin. Its the scheme. He rarely plays three down lineman and he doesn’t like the 330lb plus DT’s that eat up blocks. This defense is strictly built to stop the pass first.

Quote from Wilson "We're having great practices, so I'm not worried about our progress here on the field" (or something to this effect). I sure hope #92 has a bunch of Participation Trophies to hand out to everyone for these "great" practices.

My thoughts are simple: Will we have yet another year without an offense? I am officially worried.

    11. Why is Cordello Patterson standing on the sidelines for Kick Returns???

Kick Returns are all brand new this year, so why is the one guy we brought in for his kick return ability standing on the sideline in Preseason not getting in some live game practice on this new skill?

    3) Agree. Also, I hope they shut Broderick Jones down until he can get the brace off his right arm. Throw out making him learn the left side while being injured, and let him heal, so he will be ready for Week 1. I can live with Dan Moore playing LT, over what I saw from Broderick Jones last night.

Number 3 is far more on the team than it is on Broderick. Unless Broderick regressed even more during this recent Training Camp from his Rookie Season, no way in hell this mainly falls on Jones. This is, yet again, another issue regarding the lack of development of the Offensive Line by Tomlin.
