    1. He threw pretty well, but definitely didn't wow anyone with the missed exchanges (still unsure who is to blame on those). One preseason game doesn't move the needle for me though. He has a few chances to continue to show he is ready.

    2. BroJo makes Broderick sound like a Jonas Brother or something lmao. Was hoping for more out of Fautanu so we could put the Moore situation to bed, but he might be on Broderick's path.

    3. Kinda agree here

    4. Yeah he done

    5. He got his sack from the DE position I believe. Good player for subpackages either way.

    6. Same. Wilson looks legit.

    7. As usual

    8. Hopefully. Would love to see him take a step.

    9. Same. Would hate to lose either for any amount of time.

    10. Well week -2... Need the season to start

Nothing about the missed challenge? I was so disappointed in Tomlin's Post game interview, and that not a single reporter asked Tomlin about why he did not challenge the reception. Resulting in Tomlin giving his usual excuse of "I didn't have a good angle on the play"

Tomlin needs to put someone in the Booth who is in charge of helping him with challenges during games. Everyone watching the game had a good angle and knew immediately that he had 2 feet down.

your solution can't possibly happen: Tomlin says he uses his gut to make these in game decisions... he can't possibly put his gut in the booth.

As I was watching the game yesterday, my wife walked by just for that one play... she watches replays and after the lack of challenge and me complaining about Tomlin, she says "it's not Tomlin's fault... someone needs to be watching replays and telling Tomlin when to challenge".... after I explained how Tomlin doesn't use a dedicated replay person, she says "oh" and walks away.... so sad.

Worst performances of the night? TJ Watt, Chris Boswell and Minkah Fitzpatrick. Not one of these very highly paid players did anything on the field all night. They were just stealing oxygen on the sidelines! Why do we even keep these guys around? Especially TJ. The guy can't even win DPOY 2 out of 3 years! :p

If Fields has to start, that means Wilson is hurt or is washed up.

There is a lot more going on in preseason Gm1 than trying to win a football game. Maybe Tomlin wanted to see how his punter could do in downing inside the 20? A lot of player evaluations, mixing and matching. Can the defense get a crucial stop? There are more position battles to be settled on the defensive side than there are on the offense. Hence, wanting to see more snaps from that unit.

Sorry, didn't see the game, only a few "high"lights. My biggest concern in the offseason was about our OL. Not sure any of the QB's we brought in are capable of withstanding constant pressure like our OL has given up. If I recall both Fields and Wilson were sacked over 50 times last season, so while Fields scrambling ability sounds good on paper, not sure it translates to the field unless our OL improves.

From the clips in pre-season game 1, I didn't see anything that calmed my nerves. Could be a long long season with a lot of :tequila:

This..it may have been one or both, but seeing they have worked together at camp almost exclusively on 1st team reps does not bolster confidence for either.

The other storyline is QB’s are aloud to intentional ground the ball now if there is pressure on them. It is so frustrating when you have a defense built to get after the passer. I don’t know why we even bother paying for high priced defensive players anymore. Its getting to the point you can’t even play defense anymore.

Take a look at Fields' 20+ yard pass plays. All 3 plays he got hit just after the throw. Good job staying focused on the throw and taking the hits. OL has to be better.

WHAT... WHAT??? So, you are arguing that Mike Tomlin wanted Justin Fields to fail, so he could watch the Punt team work. This being the reason he did not challenge the completion. Reversing the call, picking up the 1st down and allowing the drive to continue with Justin Fields 6th straight completion would have been a bad thing for the Steelers in Preseason?

Hell, Why not punt on 1st down if all you want to do is see the punt team work??? :)

Week 1 preseason is what it is. I liked that Fields pit the exchange fumbles on himself and didn’t throw blame. Stuff like that matters.
