If there is a way for neither of them to win...I'm all for that option. Since I don't think that option is going to transpire I guess I would have to go with the 9ers. I don't hate Ray Lewis but it wouldn't bother me if he got hurt on the first play and had to watch the rest of his "last" game from the sidelines!

I am constatly going back and forth on this one. One day ravens, next 49er's??? I just dont know? I know i'll catch alot of heat, but part of me wants the ravens to win just looking at the bigger picture. If Flacco has a stellar game (threw up in my mouth) then they will be forced for a bigger pay day. Which in turn cuts down on the money they have left for everyone else? Ravens are in just as big a cap hell as we are right now and having to pay all these big contracts wil just hurt team for a few years to come. The 9ers have a team that can content for the title for the next few yaers as they are now and continue to build on that. With cap issues for the ravens and the possibility of many people leaving, this is the ravens chance and the next few years will be spent getting back to this point. IMHO

The better the Ravens are, the better the Steelers will aspire to be. It's no mystery that many title winners come out of divisions where they're being pushed. Think Redskins, Giants, Cowboys in the 80s and 90s. Steelers in the 70s (look at what they had to deal with in 1975). 49ers were pushed by the Rams in 88 and 89..and the the Rams-49ers in 1999. Titans-Jags-Steelers-Ravens juggrenaut of the late 90s/early 00s??? The Patriots' title winning teams were built by Parcells, at a time when the AFC east was also tough. I could make the argument that part of the Pats' post-season failures in recent years is due to the fact that they have now been playing in a pansy division for the past ten years.

Also, keep in mind, that the Ravens have put so much into winning a title that once they have that ring, I think they'll relax. If they win on Sunday, I expect them to fall back next season.

I don't buy the whole "The better the Ravens are, the more the Steelers will want to win / the more the Steelers will be motivated / etc." one bit.

I don't care about them next season. I do NOT want to see any Raven hoist another Lombardi trophy as long as I live.

I would rather have all the other teams in the NFL pass us in Super Bowl victories vs. watching the Ravens win their 2nd.

I feel basically the same way.

When asked today, Art Rooney said he wouldn't mind seeing the Ravens win.

“I do (not) root that hard for any team if it’s not ours, so we’ll start with that. But, I guess I would say I wouldn’t mind seeing Baltimore win this one for historical reasons, we’ll put it that way. And plus, having a team from our division win it kind of makes the division look good. And that’s okay with me.”

i'm going for the rasins too. makes our division look good and keeps a cali team from tying us. we can say we lost to the best this year. we can also say we beat them with charlie. and that's the only reason.
