I think some fans completely sleepwalk through the seasons.

Let’s have a staff of 50 people all promoted from within, we’ll be unstoppable :goofy:

If people trust the Steelers organization and believe they do things well and the right way, why is there a concern that they would hire bad coaches if they added to the staff?

The game has changed and teams need to adapt. Many concepts that worked just 7 or 8 years ago no longer do. I think that simply dismissing the Steelers having the smallest coaching staff in the NFL while they are on a run of zero success in playoff football over a significant period of time is a mistake. Just because something has always worked doesn't mean it will always work. Adapt or die.

There is a reason that NFL football coaches work incredibly long hours. The game continues to get more complex. Because of the increase in complexity, it makes sense that more coaches may be getting overwhelmed by having to handle a wide-ranging array of disciplines and that by giving more people a slightly smaller scope of their responsibilities, the team may benefit from it. The more time that can be spent with more detailed and specific coaching, the better.

Sometimes people need to consider the possibility that the Steelers may not be doing everything as well as they could be...or maybe should be. It's okay to question how things are being done from time to time. That's exactly what the organization is supposed to be doing when they aren't having great success.

the steelers seem slow to adapt in general. Look how long it took for them to fire canada. Just because thats not how they've done things. Another team would not have wasted so much time on that guy.

When things tend to workout for You because of a general way of doing things....it's hard to break the habit. Look how long it has taken the Browns not to fire a HC every other year, and then therefore have to change what they drafted because of the different styles run.
