Well, Daniel Jeremiah had Fatanu as his 11th best player, and we got him at #20.

We get Moore off the line and Broderick back to LT. Isn’t that what people wanted.

I would've taken Mitchell at #20, then draft a center in the second round.

Bone fracture is not a worry if it heals properly. ACL etc. are more of a worry.

If Mims was their man than every pick is settling..........you could easily say that Caleb Williams was every team's man and every team but the Bears settled.

There’s a good chance that we will have a shot at 51. Centers don’t go early often and I don’t think that any of the available prospects were Pouncey level prospects. We will stand pat and get our pick of either JPJ or Frazier. If a couple of C’s go, then we can trade up. Don’t see a scenario where we don’t get a C we like

Just watching Moats and Deke, Moats had some interesting comments on this pick, he said Andy did a lot of this at Philly in building that line. Don't rule out a C in the 2nd, don't Rule out Daniels (who he said was a lot like Barton) moving to C. not my fave pick, but Andy has done well in Philly, so let's go.

Say something nice... say something nice... talented kid but what's his position? Also, I sure AF hope he's healthy because the injury concerns had him down my list. If that was really their BPA they should have done everything possible to trade down (and maybe they did; it takes two).

I’m pretty sure Fuatanu was the highest rated player on the board. Yes the #1 CB and the #1 C was still available, but maybe the #3 T is a better player than either of them. Hard to say it wasn’t BPA

Don't be so certain that we did not take our 2024 starting center with Pick #20.
You don't buy the Center rumors that were going around about Fauntanu being the best NFL center in the draft?

Troy Fautanu Has Medical Questions, Flagged for Knee Injury | Yardbarker
But Daniel Jeremiah noted in a conference call on Wednesday that there are multiple teams that could see him moving inside, and one team thinks he could be a center.

“I know one team feels like he could be the best center in the draft,” Jeremiah said. “So, he’s a legit five-position guy.”

And that is what makes Fautanu such a rare player in this entire class. Fautanu is the group sleeper not discussed nearly enough among Steelers fans, but he makes sense.

Still say JPJ was the best pick here. He would have been almost instant pro-bowler and a VERY important position.

Will Fauntanu be LT and taht mean B Jones RT? As long as he starts day 1 and Moore is benched as swing tackle, cut or traded, we did okay.

That said, dumb to pass on a beast of an OC in JPJ. Just dumb.

Very interesting choice. Seems like a natural move to pulling guard, but maybe the Steelers see him suited as a center. Won't have to worry about him at LT

A couple of references- he is the #16 overall prospect on the nfl.com site. He’s #15 on PFF’s big board.

I’m not sure how I feel because he’s one of the guys I never had a chance to watch other than watching games on live TV.

That isn't clear at all. Most rankings I've seen had Fautanu ranked well ahead of Barton and most of the players still available when the Steelers picked. He was among the top 15 or so players in this draft, so this was a value pick.
