In what order do you rank these five qbs: Joe Ferguson, Billy Kilmer, Archie Manning, Jim McMahon, and Jim Plunkett.

I'll list their win-loss record, completion percentage, yards thrown, tds, ints, QBR rating and pro bowls made next to their name.
    Ferguson: 79-92, 52.4%, 29,817, 196/209, 68.4 QBR, 0 Pro Bowls
    Kilmer: 61-52, 53.1%, 20,495, 152/146, 71.6 QBR, 1 Pro Bowl
    Manning: 35-101-3, 55.2%, 23,911, 125/173, 67.1 QBR, 2 Pro Bowls
    McMahon: 67-30, 58.0%, 18,148, 100/90, 78.2 QBR, 1 Pro Bowl
    Plunkett: 72-72, 52..5%, 25,882, 164/198, 67.5 QBR, 0 Pro Bowls

In college I rank them by height.

As pros I rank them by hand size.

No freaking way. He had 6 tds, and no turnovers in the playoffs , and had 2 tds, and no turnovers in the SB that year. So overall he had 8 tds , and no turnovers in the post season that year...it's not always what You do , but when You do it..

Personality wise he seemed like a jacka$$, but was a guy who QB a team to a SB win, regardless of an exceptional D and RB, he still put it up when it mattered. I always felt Plunkett was a someone who had he been in a better system at the beginning, might have better stats and HOF consideration with 2 SB wins. His first years with the Pats were horrible, but the team was a mess as well. When he signed with the raiders, from what I remember they just told him to sit a year and learn the system, he matured and with a better team won 2 SB's. Stats alone he of course is not HOF material, 2SB wins and one SB MVP at times will get you in, but the career as a whole was pretty awful.

See I’m not going to give a qb a whole lot of credit for 1 and 2 yard touchdown “runs”. In the post season that year he threw for 3td and ran for 3(including sb).

McMahon was good in the 1985 playoffs but every QB on this list would win the super bowl with this bears defense if they were all in their prime

What did he do without that defense and running game?

What does anyone do when a team falls apart. It still doesn't take away what was done. Also Nobody said He was an all world Qb, but out of that list He's number 1.

Being old enough to have watched all of these guys, it's hard to rank them. Joe Ferguson was a real gun slinger who could put up some big numbers but threw a lot of picks. Jim Plunkett took a long time to get his career going but ended up winning 2 rings. Jim McMahon had a great defense and Walter Payton to hand off to but he also was an effective game manager and was a team leader. Billy Kilmer threw an ugly ball that wobbled all over the place but he was tough as nails and had more TD passes than interceptions in his career which was rare back then. Archie Manning had absolutely nothing around him and just had to improvise and scramble around to get anything done.
All in all they all had very good careers but not quite reaching the HOF level.
