@S.T.D@S.T.D would lose his collective mind I think. :lolol:

For me personally, I would trade up for Mitchell but boy oh boy the board clearly didn't break well at all for the Steelers and/or the Steelers are not as high on their "favorites" as many thought; Mims and Barton doubly so and no less. As for who else to trade up for, I am now officially convinced Graham Barton isn't making it to 20. Among the players I'd trade up for if I were the Steelers, Barton is one of them. Mims is also an option here. Mitchell would be the contingency plan though I believe Mitchell is going earlier than 12.

I agree completely about how great a CB1 would be. I would rather have a Rod Woodson than two Joey Porter, Jrs.
But I'm counting draft picks and counting steeler holes and don't think we have the capital to trade up.
Holes at WR, C, OT, CB and maybe ILB. And only 4 descent draft picks this year. Even if they all hit, we're still one short.
I wish we could trade up for the stud. I wish.

People don’t actually believe this do they? Steelers are notoriously tight lipped about their draft plans and yet not only does this Pauline person know they will trade up to 12 but also the target

JPJ doesn't get that 5th year option, so I think the best you could do would be to extend him year 3? After that you'd have to assess whether you'd go 5th year option and how much more or less than JPJ he'd be getting or extension on Mitchell (IF he pans out).

I mean it would be nice to have 2 great corners, but how does that really affect the defense? This team is giving up yards over the middle like crazy because they don't have a true ILB or slot corner that can cover it.

Becton is injury prone, no team is going to pay him 10 million a year.

if they were to trade up i'm hoping it involves a trade of players too. may have to pay less in draft picks to do it. i would think latham, mitchell or maybe brian thomas would be involved.

It's all speculation at this point. His knee damage is like Chase Young's.
I was for getting him in getting him healed up and we would have a solid Center. This would allow them to pick up the OT and take a later round Center.
But I think that plan is scuttled. I know his agent Drew Rosenhaus (He's done many contracts in Washington).

I think Brice is right on this one.

It's certainly a significant injury, and can be career ending. I just wondered what you'd seen/heard specifically about his not playing at all in 2024, possibly ever, since you said you'd 'got the info'.

Question, Was Fields gotten more as an investment than a player?
Buy low, in this case for almost nothing, and sell high type of thing?
He’s a great piece to have for a trade in the near future. Maybe nearer than we know.

    Thoughts?

Don't talk about picking up anything before picking up a worthy center.

I don't believe anything written right now. I don't see them actually trading up unless it's a couple spots like last year to stop someone taking a player away from them.

Center within the first two picks or bust

There is a Miami beat writer who is a good friend. I admit, that doesn't qualify him as a doctor.

So much for this story. The person who reported this and anybody who bought it should be embarrassed.
