a buddy of mine who works at a sports radio network does a mock every year. He loves this stuff. he studies players and puts them where they fit pretty good. I think the past few years his picks have been pretty good. he does a pre combine mock and a post combine mock. he knows i love the steelers and he told me who our first three picks could be according to him and I like it.

    rd1 barrett jones c,g,ot alabama
rd2 ace sanders wr south caralina
    rd3 shawn williams s georgia

not sure i want a wr that high but i think ace is another antonio brown. I dont think it would hurt to have two recievers like that

I've got no problem with them spending a high draft pick on wr. However, if they do please let it be a big strong target as opposed to more small shifty receivers.

I like jones, but not in the 1st.... problem is that he'll be gone too early in the 2nd for us to grab him...... i'm all in on williams in the 3rd though

i'm not all in on williams. he's struggling at the SR.bowl. his coverage skills are not great and will be taken advantage of in the nfl. just say NO.

jones yes. he can only help but we won't go that way in the first this year.

quinton patton is the hot commodity right now at wr. deep threat , precise routes, seperation. he's showing all of this against the best the draft has to offer at the sr. bowl practices. he will be shooting up the boards soon. he will be entering the first rd. again we won't go that route this year.

I am not opposed to a WR even in the first, but it better be someone who is big and strong and goes to get the ball. That is what we THOUGHT we were going to get in Sweed, but I think there were other issues there including BA not liking him.

There's no doubt we will be worse at the WR position without Mike Wallace, but I think we will still have a good corps of guys, and it's not such a difficult position to find later in the draft. I agree that with Brown and Sanders, the next guy we get should be the big, strong type, even if we lose a little speed. But I hope we don't spend a 1st round pick on one. There are plenty of positions I'd like to see prioritized over that.

Hines wasn't particularly fast or big, but he was a great receiver. Wallace was really, really fast, but I think we saw this year that his hands are average. Give me a guy who runs great routes, goes and gets the ball with his hands, and can/will block and I think we could have ourselves a really great WR core. That being said, I still think we need an "elite" type guy. Wallace and Brown, IMO, were both #2 receivers. Put Wallace next to any other great receiver as the 2nd fiddle, and he would be a stud.

i agree but i don't see a stud wr in this draft that can be the first wr for us in year one , we need to find a diamond in the rough
